The plan
Quote:
leaving calistoga at 9am ish Us three are from Napa (the other two are not on ADVrider) so we were planning on riding up hwy 29 to clearlake oaks and hitting high valley that drops out on bartlett springs. then to M5 to N1702 over to letts lake to M10 that hits bear creek. from bear creek depending on time we might head back on twin valley to bartlett springs and out. if we are pressed for time (the other two guys have kids) we will just stay on M10 that drops out at upper lake near hwy 29 and then back to Napa. should be fun, i was on this same N1702 last week and it still had some snow banks on the road. there are some creeks to cross, sand, dirt, rocks, snow, mud and ruts. The other two guys have never rode up there so im kind of helping them get out and see whats in our back yard for riding and i dont have to ride alone.

In
In for the 7th. Where in Calistoga? How bout the gas/convenience store at the corner of calistoga road and 29?
Unless of course something better comes along. (actually, it would not be better, just higher priority, I end up with way too much guilt if I defer a revenue or other issue for recreation mid week.) Looking forward. Would love to check out the ural sometime. New Ural (like yours) 2 wd, less expensive|750cc, rough castings, will suffer more depreciation 1150GSA 1150GSA, beautiful, unique, will probably maintain about 10K value over time | custom, more than budgeted, will cry if I damage it

I'm heading to Mendocino Natl again on Sunday 5/11 if anybody wants to explore dirt, combination of different trails and all trails are clearly marked with the level of difficulty. I'll be setting up base camp at Penny Pines, hope to see some of you there.

great outing
Great ride guys. Thanks Cory for being a catalyst and having a plan.
I got home a bit after 7:30; Made for 12 hours of saddle with just over 250 miles. We kicked up a fair amount of dust for a bunch of bigger bikes. Lots of riding in loose surfaces, couple of creek crossings...No broken bones, no broken gear, I'd call that a sucess. Let's do it again soon before it's too hot and dry. Vincent

Sorry for the delay guys, I have been working too much this week. Nice meeting up with some good guys and five strangers hitting it off! We had a good ride and a blast. Sandplow(Tony) Sorry, I thought I got a pic of you in the water but I guess I put the camera down to help. This is Vincent(Vrago) getting wet on the creek that I got stuck on!
