They've been leaving it open year round.

Really!? That is certainly interesting news, not that getting around it is that difficult. But that road just east of the Yolo/Lake county line is certainly going downhill quickly. Just wait until the low water crossing at Cache Creek washes away and see how that whole road disappears if we don't keep on top of the powers-that-be to keep the access open.

Yeah, I don't see that bridge making it very many more years. And I agree about the road as a whole, it's too steep and poor drainage- can be fun to ride, but it's going to be impassable for big bikes before long.

I'm getting to like taking the knoxville ohv road as a dirt shortcut around some of K-B road though.

How it was...

Weather was cold im the AM but not too. MNF roads were in great shape. New grading at S end of Bear Valley made for about 6" of marbles and some increased pucker factor, ar least for me. Yolo side of R-R rd is littered with rock, downed trees and gullied in many places. Fan fuse blew on the uphill and flies were thick while it was replaced. That pretty little resservoir was nearly full the brim. Gate was open but I couldn't see how someone could get around it were it closed. Had a pretty good maltshake at Foster's Freeze in Lower Lake. About 170 miles total.

Cory health report?

So how did you hurt yourself? Do you mind saying? Did I miss something? Sounds serious, lots of tiny tiny bones in the wrist. Once again, heal fast, heal well.

Long story but I fell down some stairs, my knee playing a role in that.

It really isn't that bad and the hardest parts are downhill going east..
Reiff goes through, yippee. I was wondering about that road, I saw it on the map and have been meaning to explore it.
Great roads up in this area with little or no traffic. Ganna take Lower Chiles this morning and see that is about.

Well, I didn’t make this ride today. Fog stopped me. I didn’t feel like dealing with it.
