I stopped and watched as there were bikes fish tailing and swapping ends all over the place in that sand. I was also surprised to see bikes continue to dive in rather than waiting for other bikes to clear. Each of them picked a spot they thought was clear and dove. I think the best was Sam, I think it was Sam, I’ve never seen a bike swap ends the way his bike was doing and still stay upright. Way to go Sam!

Oh yea I remember that spot, I called it sugar sand cause it was just like sugar in texture. Well I didn't mean to entertain anyone but hey; I hit that stuff and all I could think of was MORE THROTTLE Yehawww!

If you stay for it (Black Dog) and you see a tall guy that answers to "Fallsboater" tell him for me.

You might have to get AlinBeaverton to do your "dirty work" for you. He seems to have the vocabulary much better suited for the job. Right Al?!

What's Black God? And whose Fallsboater?

This thread should stay alive for a while yet as I still have a bunch of pictures left, L2R should too and TheTourist hasn't even started yet and I know he has a lot.

OK time for me to stop babbling and start posting pictures so I can catch up with Live2Ride. I'm about there.....

Day 3, March 6, 2008

Waking up at Gonzaga Bay with another pretty sunrise, never to many of these.

While the sun coming over the Sea of Cortez is red the mountains on the other direction are a pretty shade of pink.

Barrel gas bike fill up

Live2Ride happily riding somewhere in Baja

My camera battery and the backup were dead after the last photo and I didn’t get any more pictures until later that evening. I didn’t even get pictures at Coco’s but at least others did.

This place was motorcycle friendly

Home, I am.

Sitting here having a nice cup of tea, the first in a month. So-o-o-o-o good I'm going to have another. Why can't restaurants make a cup of tea?

It's been a cool ride north, literally. Snow at Grande Canyon. Went thru Zion, Great Basin Nat Park (closed due to snow). Up 93 to Craters of the Moon (closed...snow). Over Lost Trail and overnighted in Darby. A dusting of snow on bike this am.

I braved the cold in full winter mode and made it over Lolo in light snow. I haven't been over 12 by bike in decades. A really nice ride today. Very low traffic, no police. I tried to keep the speed down but it is a fun road. Lots of rock fall. By Kooskia it was much warmer, I even turned the elect jacket off till I topped the hill north to Lewiston. Everything was on high for the cold blast across the Genesee flats. Home just before dark.

A good ride. A few places said I was the first bike thru. I saw a Wing near Great Basin Park. We're like robins...the first signs of spring.

Is everyone from the Baja trip home?

Welcome back to the PNW! Your ride in and out of the snow sounds interesting.

Everyone else is back, you were the last to return.

I'm looking forward to seeing your pics.

Here are a few more pictures:

The famous fish tacos - actually it was a stomach bug that caused the touristas not the food.

The green door trail for single track fun, where the XR turns into a BRP!

Chuck the cake baker catching up!

Lots of KTMs - meeting another group of Advriders at the Pacific in the middle of nowhere.

Black Dog (stupid dyslexic typing ) - a DS rally out of HR.

Fallsboater - a tall dude that keeps breaking his foot on his SXC - also from HR.

I will say you have Al pegged.
