Great day for the sport of motorcycling. Funny how 38 degrees feels downright balmy after riding in 28 degree temperatures. It were cool this morning.

It was a game played in years of old, back before Global Warming froze the Ohio Valley and prevented 2-wheel travel. Started by two aspiring adventurers, Sparky & Pete Abernathy, it was a popular recreation for cyclists. Here's Sparky & Pete with one of their more famous tags, which was taken in front of Cecil Swingset, my grandfather, before he could wake and get the tag of his front porch.

Yep, back in those days the pictures were posted on trees and the Abraham no Tag zone extended much further east.

Yeppers, back in the day some taggin' folk actually tagged by horse. It is said by those of old that the best Taggin' Horses could be bought, sold and/or traded at George McKee's Taggin' Horse Dealer. He was located on a 3 digit state route...numbers adding up to 11, somewheres south o' Caldwell...I think.

Next tag....

Throw a fat kid on the back and you'd have a heck of a wheelie machine.

Well, it's not the same tag game they have in WVA. I've tagged a couple over there so I look at the thread now and then.

It's currently on page 3.

Yeah, the WV tag has been sitting for a couple of weeks now, just "across the street" from you Ohio riders. I'm surprised one of you guys/gals hasn't grabbed it yet.

We had company this week, and my one afternoon off (Wednesday) I'm going to take my great-nephew's Flat Stanley on a bike tour of WV for his 3rd grade class in Wisconsin. I'd love to come up there and get the tag and several remaining historical markers at the same time. Unfortunately, all of my planned stops are in central and eastern WV, so the tag is safe from me for awhile.

A short while, that is.

New Tag

Great day for a 4 hour ride. It was so nice, I may not have been too upset had I been Bruced. I snapped this next tag on my way to the last tag. I took this 3 digit state route out of Z-Town. There's also a wildlife sanctuary right down the road from this (at least 1 of the entrances). I would have liked to stop for the All Day Breakfast, but was in a hurry to get to the tag. If anyone stops to eat, please provide a review.
