Are the spokes actually going to be black too, instead of chromed, as pictured?
Any reflexite in the black?

Can't wait to see how it turns out, ArthDuro..

VC I plan to have them be like the steel finsh
not shiny chrome but kinda how they are when they are stock

I saw a set of similar wheels at the shop near here
so that is where the ideas came from (originaly i was going to black out everything)
it would be a gloss powder coat finish on the rim, hubs and brake plates
(hope this answers your reflexite question ) and steel gray spokes, I am still deciding if i want the spoke nuts to be
black or red or that stock finish.

Its gonna be a nice bit of cash need for this
because at the same time i would like to redo my breaks,
forks, rear shock, tires, sprockets, chain, chain slider
and refurbish the swing arm, so this will probably take some time
also I am not too happy about the powder coater timing and stuff
cuz it could leave me bikeless for over a week.

I am calling this the roller part of the project
so far i got the sprokets, chain and fork seals
still need spokes, nuts, tires, fork seals, shock,
so first money, then parts, then timing it all together.

can't wait

will probably paint the plastics before then
flat primer gray is easy to come by
hehe

Nice. I was thinking a while back how it would be neat to have the NX in a charcoal color.

What did your NX do today

Mine did the same thing it's been doing since the last guy owned it.
JUST SITTING IN MY FREAKING GARAGE WAITING FOR PARTS!

Well the last guy had no idea why it would only run about 20% of the time.
Guess he didn't have the death squad here to help him breath life back into
it. Very bad for him ,very good for me.

I to blame Jeff for poisoning another young mind with his crazy mods
and American spirit of if they don't make it I will. Arthduro you should go pray at the altar of Honda and ask that your sins of mods be washed away.

Might I respectfully submit...

Yes I'm new. No I haven't posted photos of my bike (but I will!)
Mine's an '88 NX250 currently being resurrected by ADVrider Jetpoweredmonkey...just waiting on the last few parts to arrive.

I'd love to see a thread called something like: WHAT FITS THE NX.
Those of you who have found other model hardparts that work on the NX would be a goldmine of info to someone like me, who doesn't know much about...well...period.

Aftermarket too!

About me, this is my first dirt bike, 250 and thumper. Just took MSF Dirt Bike School and had a blast.

Bikes I've had: Honda Nighthawk 450, Suzuki GS750, Honda CB 400F, New Truimph Bonneville, assorted scooters.

Thanks...back to lurking.

I have a question for you Papa..
being you own a NX125? I believe?...

Is the rear wheel an 18", DID with this on the rim edge...

DID @ 1.85 x 18 16 96 --15 17 --
???

I have this rear wheel, sprocket, gas tank(no good) and seat for a mystery Honda...and i don't need it..
I'm just trying to source the bike it's from, so i can sell them to whomever needs them..

Anyone one need a stock rear wheel?

I also have a brand new custom Renzaco Racing rear seat that I'll be selling when it gets here.

NX125 rim

Well the numbers on mine read DID 1.85 96--17 15--
then on another spot on the rim J 18 1.85 2 88 DOT

So I say yes that's what it fits and the seat looks like a dead ringer.

Since we're speaking of the NX125 I have fallen to the dark side.

I blame Jeff for this. I have an older XL185 kicker only motor that will be the donor for my sleeper NX.

Don't tell you know who, but the NX125 motor will support the kicker and the E start. Also the head and jug will fit.

Then down to the print shop witha little magic NX125 now reads NX185.

We need to keep this quiet, because my helmet dosen't have a wiper on it
when it's starts to rain toads and locust.

Papa.........ooooooh! I'm telling.............

Someone will just have a fit when they see your post...lol. Of course, since it doesnt have anything to do with the NX250 specifically it may not even draw a comment.

Pulling the CDI

Well I start pulling the plactic to see what's up with the cdi and once I get all the plastic off and have the cdi in my sights, I think why don't I hit hte key and try to start it. Yup it runs, but I will start the disection today of this cdi while I wait for the new one.

When I ordered the new using the info supplied to me here from VC. I was told both numbers are available with the 008 being stock up to 1989 and the 680 being what Honda started using in 1990.

The 680 was a little more money, but hey this is my wife's bike and she is worth it.
