NX250 Thread -- official ADV owners manual

Mine got presents...


Here is one of them--part number #66552

$18.99 from HarborFreight tools....using a coupon from CycleWorld/DirtRider/Transworld MX...reg.$29.99.

This isn't a full repair/rebuild stand...this is more like a quick, 'i need to lube the chain', or 'swap rear wheels' stand...just for quick adjustments..

I have several other jacks, lifts, etc...but this is for quickly doing something, without having to setup one of the larger jacks..
(or if your heavy stand is buried under a bike, which is waiting on parts from Nethersburg)






The NX250 is a low bike, and therefore, this stand won't EASILY slip under the NX.

See the 2x8 under the kickstand? Well, i set the kickstand on that, then I rocked the bike over onto the kickstand...
That gave just enough 'clearance' that i scooted the jack under the bike.

And then i set the bike back down onto the stand,
and after making sure it was stable, it was a one pump lift...

And it has a lock-pin for the up position...



How high does it lift?....well, i have the 17" rear...and i could get a spray paint can + lid under the rear tire...

Hey Guys,

I have a line on a parts bike in Louisiana, that I am thinking of picking up. Anyone interested in going in with me. All I want off the bike is the plastic pieces. He's asking $300. Says the starter is out, and that it sticks in 1st and 2nd gears, but it will run if you push start it. He does NOT have a title for it though.

If I manage to get it anyway, I will likely part it out, but just thought I'd see if anyone on here had any interest.

If the price is right, I could go for:

• Front brake system. At least the caliper assembly, but if the disc, lines, master cylinder and lever are OK, count me in for the works.
• Seat, even if the vinyl is crap. As long as the pan isn't cracked...
• Also, footpegs if they're not completely munged up.
• Mirrors would be a nice-to-have, but not terribly important.

I'm in Houston, so hopefully shipping will be reasonable. You should be able to get a single customer for the engine/radiator, so I'll leave that alone...

on another note, have you guys noticed the youtube video's dont show the real power this bike has?
I know they made some detuned models with 17hp, which mine is not lol. the unrestricted models do 0 to 60 in 5.7 secs (feels faster to me).
I've been riding since I was 5, I've ridden lots of bikes , these things flat haul ass for a 250, mine would kill my xjs 650 to 60.
anyway it just seems the power is highly overlooked (or people dont know how to ride them).
I climbed a dirt hill the other day about a 45 degree, in 2nd gear shooting a rooster tail all the way up, and I weight 250lbs lol.
seriously this engine is a racing motor, thats why I like mine so much!

I second that.... mine peaked at 26 on a dino once... all I have is stock motor... orig air filter and minimal port intake and exhaust. and I dont care about the jets since it burn normal to slight rich plug reading...

These are the super cheap Sedona tires I just ordered in from Bike Bandit for $68 for the set. These are the CRF150 sizes so, obviously, they're narrower than the TW's but with the nice knobs I think they may be okay. I'd consider ordering a 19 rear for the front next time around just because the 19 front looks so super skinny.

Hoping to get these mounted up this week (but of course the new tubes didn't come in the same box so I'm waiting on those) and will report back on how they do as well as post pics of them mounted up.

Thought you guys might get a kick out of this. Today was my wife's first lesson on a bike. I put her on the nx250 I just picked up. She's riding like a champ already. In case you're wondering. i took off all the plastic bits just in case. Don't want them to end up in any worse shape than they are in already.

Looks like you need the mirrors from that Louisiana parts bike a lot more than I do

Actually there are some decent looking black mirrors on ebay that fit this bike. I think I'm gonna grab those up. Still haven't heard from the guy in La. I'll keep you guys posted.
