Admore lights for Givi E-52

Since the stock kit for the E52 gets modest reviews, I picked up the kit from Admore lighting.

The installation is straight forward. The E-52 has molded-in panels that can be cut out, allowing you to installed Givi’s light kit. Admore’s kit uses the same location and adds an additional panel of LEDs to each the rear corners of the E-52. Givi cases are made of soft plastic, so an X-acto knife makes quick work of removing the outer plate.

The Admore kit comes with PowerTaps to tie into the various electrical points on the bike (power, ground, brake and turn signal wires). The wiring harness from Admore is split into a section that mounts inside the case and a section that mounts on the bike. A small barrell connector allows for a quick release in case you want to pull the E-52 off the bike.

The whole project took about 2 -3 hours, or rather it would have if the first controller from Admore had not been defective. Admore required a deposit before they would ship the replacement part to me. I’ll get the deposit back when I send them the bad part. I’m not too happy about that, but I am happy with the product.

These LEDs are not as bright as the hyperlights, but are still as bright as the tail & brake lights. The real benefits come from the greater surface area that is illuminated and the height of the illumination.

There are more photos of the installation on my web site.

That Youtube video is pretty good, but mine work just a little differently. In the video, the outboard LED panels do not light up when you only have the tail light on. They light for brake lights and signals only. For my setup, all 4 panels are on "half" power when only the tail light is on, going to full power for braking and signal use.

Admore must have updated their controller.

Light color question...

Is the light output red or orange? It's likely just the photo but these lights look orange. Just ordered a set for my E52. Should be here this week.

Red. On mine, they are all on and dim off brake, all on bright on brake, and the outsides blink with the blinker.

Looks a little annoying though, since the LEDs flash while the blinkers pulse, and they lose sync. LED turn signals are in my future.

Bleh.

How many beers did that involve, slowpoke.

BTW, if you used the total craptastic excuse for adhesive that they provided, have fun doing it over again in a couple weeks. Get your own double-sided foam tape if you order this, unless the admore guys updated the kit in the last year. Otherwise, I had no issues, and I chose to use the stock mounting hole deal for the plug (I think the instructions said to use a corner or some such) and taped down the wire. Regular razors cut through that plastic like butter.
