Hans Trunkenpolz was an engineer that stated KTM as a metalworking shop in Mattigofen Austria, named Kraftfahrzeug Trunkenpolz Mattighofen. In 55 Ernst Kronreif became a major share holder and changed the name to Kronreif Trunkenpolz Mattighofen. in 1960 the company name was change to Kraftrader Trunkenpolz Mattighofen and thats how we get KTM

Till Monday is what I was familiar with. My first KTM was actually my brothers '77 250. I was racing XR-75's in the desert but would practice on my brothers 250. Left side kick in those days for a kid that was 80lbs racing minis was hell. Couldn't reach the ground. |
