I got this at a swap-meet many years ago the guy i got it from swore up and down that it belonged to Steve McQueen and that he had given him the jacket, of course i have know way of knowing if this is true. either way it still a cool jacket i think from one of the forgotten So.Cal shops instrumental in desert racing.

well i feel like a big dope not having come across this thread earlier. i love the old sleds. they were pretty much on their way out as i started my racing in the desert.
i was so fortunate to get to know charlie hockie and bill thorwaldson when i worked for richard and patricia thorwaldson in the late 80's. when those two would get together at the shop it was world class, pro level bench racing! charlie gave me a tip on how to get a good start which i used that weekend at B to V in 87. holeshotted the novice row and scared the hell outta myself when i found myself leading at the bomb. charlie laughed his ass of when i told him.
i am so lucky to have made friends with charlie and bill and george walker.
gone but not forgetten.

.commonly known as 'tiller bars', you might try some of the Brit parts places, or possibly Flanders still sells them.
