Looks darned familiar.
Hmmmm. I was under the impression that IS Malcolm Smith, not just a guy wearing a jersey that says "Malcolm Smith."

I suspected such but didn't want to assume. the rider is definitely Malcolms stature. But the number plate #18 threw me off. Probably just part-timin' it desert racing Didtrict 37 I guess.
I'm guessing somewhere up here in the Mojave.

With those Joshua trees and the mountains in the background it looks to me to be out north of Red Rock/Dove Springs.

That Husky rider has a YELLOW stripe indicting he's an ammie like the Spoke Bender behind him. Malcolm has been an expert (RED stripe) since forever.

Killer bikes dudes. When I was 15, I traded my Honda CT70 for a stripped down knobby tire clad 60's triumph 500. I had to push the triumph home when the plugs fouled.

Thanks for that GermanTrick, it's really stuck with me. These four, well-worded sentences say it all. I am the same age as you, but my Dad was not a rider. It's really touched me. I guess I'm relating to that concept of "body aging; mind still young."
Great pics of your pop as well. He IS quite a guy.
