Slip On Exhaust for Kymco Xciting 500

Put a new Exhaust Cannistor on today. Install was qwick! It really fits proper! If you have ever bought a ready to bolt on item you will know what I mean. Like the sound! So if you are tired of your bike sounding like a sewing machine, and the only noise you can hear is the wind whistleing in your helmet, or ears, get one! Ordered from ebay from Lenas Performance. Here's a Pic.

Any noticable performance gain at the seat.. or wrist?

What do you think of drilling holes in your OEM muffler in a circular pattern? Would that accomplish similar result in exhaust note?

Looks awsome by the way.

I tried drilling holes once, and that did not work out well at all. To achieve a good sound, I believe, you need to get rid of the catlytic converter. I'd save the muff that came with the bike, just in case you have to get warranty work done. Or in case they change the laws and require an Eco check every year like they do in Ohio. Not required anymore in most parts of IN. The muffler I tried to drill out had more baffles than you could imagine. I spent the whole day drilling and wore out the bits! Never again! Anyway this cannistor is dyno tested and does not require any rejetting. Nicer looking than the old muff. It only weighs about 6 lbs. Old one must have weighed around 25 lbs. That brings the dry weight down to about 460 lbs. Yes the power is better on low end. I'm told that is where the catlytic robs you! Have not done a high speed run yet! It will probably accelerate qwicker to top speed! Last time I did a high speed run somebody probably called me in on their cell phone. A few minutes later when I got into town a cop did a U-Turn on main and followed right behind me! I suddenly felt the need to fill up with gas. He sat next door watching me and then gave up! Close One! "Mind your own buisness you cell rats and you won't be mindin mine!"

Nice job Bond!! It looks good, although I prefer to have just the wind whistling through my ears. Speaking of wind it looks like you installed an after market windshield? If so what are you thoughts on it compared to the stock shield? Ive had an eye on the Xciting 500 and would like to here more from you as time goes on about how you like the Kymco and the details about owning it.

Thanks!

How does the Kymco compare to the japanese 400s and 600/650s?

Cool2

The wind screen is a Givi. about 4 to 5 inches taller and much wider! It is great protection up to about 85 degrees and then I put on the original because you will bake behind the Givi. I like the xciting 500 as much as any bike I have ever had and better than most. Especially in the fun area. Although the 250 Motorcross Honda XL 250 was the most fun I ever had. Racing it, back when I was 19, was a gas. It wore me out then! At the time I was king of the local track. No kidding! Too old for that now with the banged up leg and all. The Xciting corners better than a cruiser and stops on a dime! Accellerates fast enough to get ahead of any traffic and big Harley's at a stop light! It is funny to pass those guys on their $20,000 pride rides. Very reliable. You do not even have to look at the CVT belt untill 12,000. As hard as I drive mine I might as well go ahead and replace it. Already got the cover off anyway. With the right tools it is easier than changing a chain. About $2000 cheaper than a Honda Silverwing. The Wing still only has One brake up front! I could never go with that setup! A 650 Burgman Suzi rider told me the big burg's will wiggle when pushed in the corner! Not the Xciting! A lot of sport in the bike! Twist and go!
