p.s. Met Guarev at a screening, one cool dude.
One of my favorite RR, SgtMike. It looked like you took the time to connect with the people.

I wasn't really a RE fan till the newer UCE was launched. I've had it for 6 months and havent had a single complaint till now. I'll still wait for some really long rides to decide how reliable it is but the way its been behaving, I am mighty impressed.

A RE and a Ural? Check out the Ural Sahara, Wjuga (?sp) and Red October editions for some uber-retro ADV inspiration.

I am itching to buy a new bike but the only 2 bikes on the market that even come close to being appealing are the new REs and the new Triumphs. Man do I hate the modern bike market.

Ok, now its 2012. I am still interested in the Royal Enfield Bullet 500 as an adventure bike. Yea I know it wont speed down the freeway at 80mph. But as far as adventures go, 50mph is probably the very top cruising speed, at least in Latin America. It has enough clearance for most dirt roads, maybe even 21" X 18" rims would help (if thats possible). Please let us hear if you have this kind of set up.

I am happy with my Enfield and it's best feature in my mind is cruising effortless at above idle. It must have a large flywheel which gives it a completely different feel to something like the 690 which needs more riding to keep it on the go. I havn't used it on long rides yet but plan for that in the future.

Hey Boxtriker, very nice set-up. Which model and year Enfield did you start with? Also if you can tell what kind of dirt roads did you go on, and how long were your trips on it? How would you compare it with the Dakar?

Hey excTC, What year and model do you have? Did you view Boxtrikers video in the above post? Its a very nice set-up. Have you taken it offroad? It might not be a fair comparison, but how would it stack up with your KTM 530? My plan is to ride thru Central America. My current stead is a KTM 950, and I think it may not be the best bike for that kind of trip, poor gas milage, supreme fuel, cant go very fast anyway etc.

Now the trials kit is available for the Electra. The Electra 500-T.

This is a custom version by Italian dealer Royal McQueen. The SuperNaag.

Very Cool Jan - not available in the US at the moment though. Sucks

These things appeal to me in the same way old Land Rovers do - simple, authentic, iconic and somewhat masochistic Life's too predictable - wondering whether you'll get there or not is refreshing to me.

Always wanted a Greeves - Anglian or such. This may eb the closest I get to it - but never realized it was out there. Danke Gents.
