Yes, your 23rd birthday was May 17th, back in 1991. But, as they say, "Like a fine wine.", something about getting better with age, if you want to believe that.

Wicked Kiwi heading to the Phills

I fly into Cebu on 1st June , staying 2 nights at MBs Garden Inn on Mactan then head north, Bantayan, Malapascua, over to Leyte, travel down Leyte , over to Bohol then down to Punglao. Next its over to Palawan . Before I leave I will have about 3 weeks around northern Luzon . My transport will be what the locals use and day hire bikes where possible . I would love to catch up with local riders where possible for a meal and beer, Let me know if your near my planned route , I have around 2 months to fill in , If you know of any must c places let me know .Cheers Toddy

If you will get a chance to hang in Manila, try to visit Pranjetto Hills where some of our inmates hang around during weekend. Our local inmates will be happy to give you some good place where to ride.

Thanks for all the greetings and comments about the "Riceman Road Tour".

It looks like I will be living/riding out of Manila more in the not to distant future. In that regard, can anyone reccommend some good day trips/routes from Manila. I find riding through Manila on a GS a challenge, but I know there most be lots of interesting country roads nearby. Any suggestions?

Hiya Douglas! Good to see you here. Have you tried riding through Quirino (Madella and Nagtipunan) then heading towards Aurora (Dinadiawan and Baler). Then either ride through Pantabangan Dam or the offroad route via San Luis / Bongabon).

Hi Teng. I have ridden portions of that route, but not the whole thing. I haven't ridden the Nagtipunan to Baler section. I think I read somewhere that you have done it a couple of times. I'm hoping to do it someday. How would it be on a fat pig GS?

It's a dream on the X-Challenge 650 and a challenge on the R1200GS. My butt is less beaten on the fat pig though.

That's what I figured. It would be a challenge on my 650 GS.
