Madridejoes Bantayan Island

Madridejoes is at the top of the island and not visited by many tourists. Kota Park is a must see . In the 2nd world war the local resistance caught 34 Japanese soldiers , I was told the 1st one was hanged by his balls and the others had to watch before they were shot .

Inside the old Kota Fort

Some of the little villages have their own chapels at the entrence

The night watch man forgot to wake up here

Squid drying

None of the fish is frozen here, It is sold fresh, dried or salted

Repair time

This is the side car ( pedicab ) rig I bought for Karens family , cost 3,000p and another 1,000p to rebuild and paint it . Her 18yr old bro now has a job and a little income .

This down the coast from Madridejos

Local Church

Bantayan City

Bantayan City is the largest town on Bantayan . The 200 year old church is worth a visit .

The Spaniards put the locals into enforced labour to build these churchers all over the Philippines

Gold Alta

Note how thick the walls are.

Beautiful stained glass windows

Karen and her 2 cousins after burning candels at church .

Cock Fighting here is in the same league as horse racing in Australia

When the action starts its hard to tell which bird is yours or not. The
betting is chaos .

Self serve Gas Station

24hr Gas Station with attendent .

Ohlins install a couple of weeks ago. It took a little longer than "about two beers" that a friend said it took him.

Years ago had a friend, his Doctor limited him to one beer a day, that was when he started buying quarts.

There are a couple of things I can think of where "slow and easy" work best. Maybe shock replacement is one of them also.

Yeah, I hear that. I think it will be faster if I ever do it again now that I know the process. The new Ohlin shock is great!

Dan, Thanks for your ride report. It looks like you had a very nice trip. I have done much the same, however not all at once, and during dryer times of the year. I also don't didn't take the pictures, darn it.

It is too bad that Suzuki does not sell the DR 650 in the Philippines, it would be a good bike for here.

Well, thanks again for the photos, and your report.

The ride was the best part. And the people then the food. Blue Lagoon in Pagupod was nice.

Boracay is over run with tourists, resorts, and vendors. But there are still beaches and out of the way places you can find peace. I really like it here because of all of the people i've met. So being a small island you always run into someone you know. And the laid back simple island lifestyle can't be beat. Island fever will set in at some point.

hahahaha. no. I had enough of riding like Flash. Experiencing 300kph six times is enough. I want something comfortable now.

Will take the Multi on a short tagaytay-Batangas this sunday and see how it feels.

Let's ride one time.
