We then got on our bikes and explored places nearby.

We were supposed to check out 2 other waterfalls but this place was hard to leave especially with great cold beer.

Drinkers guide. Have your beer at hungry surfer or yellow fin and meet wonderful people. Beautiful women or men if you're of the opposite sex that is

Waking up just before day break with a hang over just before heading home . Good thing our lodging includes a breakfast buffet to ease the headache.

Love is in the air early in the morning.

Ok enough of the tourist thing, it's saddle time. This time we pass through the supposedly original route. Via Pantabangan lake/dam.

The roads going home are filled with twisties enough to make us dizzy and stop for coffee it's either that, or the beer still flowing through my veins from drinking the night before. .

One thing we learned from this ride. Sometimes getting deliberately lost is better than reaching destination on time. On the other hand, never party too hard the night before a ride.

This one's for Herc

Till my next adventure...

Thanks for the thread..

Thanks for the thread...I will try it in April...if I can suck-it-up and be as brave as you...coming from Montana and California to get lost in the PI...
Do you ride at night because of the Heat?
How much is the Hand Carried Gas in the mountains?
Thanks for keeping Herc alive!

Welcome, It is great that your first posting was to this site. Unlike Montana, there is no chance of hitting a deer riding in the Philippines. It is still not the best idea to ride after dark, sure it can be done, but, understand there are trucks, buses etc. that run with no lights at all. Think of a Montana logtruck coming down the road with no lights.

If you ride when you come in April, you will most likely be renting a small bike. So the cost of gas should not matter too much. During the day in most areas gas is no problem with a little planning. The same goes for lodging.

If you have been following Herc's, Carlos's and the other ride reports here, you are aware of the great riding the Philippines has to offer. Come, you will have a great time, and not just from the great riding.

Thanks YnotJP. It was all good while it lasted. It's back to reality once again

Jeepsterman75 come visit the Philippines as there are a lot of beautiful ride destinations in store for you, apart from that you'll love the accomodating Filipino folks. Regarding your query, we ride at usually at night to save up on the available time/days off we get from work. We often gear up and ride straight from work and arrive at our destination by day break, by doing this we get to spend a whole day relaxing at the destination of our choice and get to do more exploration and side trips. This means riding while sleep deprived, quite stupid but the views along the way is our natural caffeine. Regarding fuel availability, it is sometimes hard to find gas stations that are open when you're riding up north by night. This is our usual concern when riding up to baguio or sagada at night. Gas stations along the tollways are usually open 24hours but we don't have access to that since we ride sub 400's which aren't allowed in the tollways. However, if you plan on riding down south to bicol region, finding fuel stations wouldn't be a problem. A tip when running low on fuel in the Philippine provinces, just ask a local where you can buy some, and surely you will be pointed to a small "sari sari" store selling fuel in 1liter soda bottles will be most likely available nearby.

If any of you guys will make it to Cebu during your visits to the Philippines
let me know. We do lots of good riding and mostly avoid the paved roads...

And we do it on proper dirt bikes, not scooters or china bikes

You're going to have a great time, Jeepsterman! Welcome to the forum!

Is there a commercial business that has DRs in the Philippines now? Even knowing of a private individual with a single DR for rent would be welcome news.

Wicked April 16th I arrive Cebu

Plan is ferry to Calbayog Samar , Biri Island to girlfriends for Holy week , Check out Cantanduanes Island as a possible place for ADV Riders Get Together , Palawan then Bantayan Island till late Oct .

Here is the bike ride we done today from my town Te Anau to Milford Sound and back 120km each way of best ride and scenery in New Zealand . I know Herc would love to see these pics and he would say " I wish I could do some of the rides you do Toddy " If we have an ADV Rider Meet up we will have to dedicate it to Herc as he was real keen . This thread went very quite after we lost Herc and a lot of us were very sad . I had never met him personally but he gave me a lot of advice and I loved his pics and ride reports . If any of you guys are around where I will be let me know and we can have a beer . Ride Safe Toddy

Adventure Addict , where do you live in Cebu ?? would be great to meet you .
