32 years old and still beautiful...

Walked into a bike shop today and saw this beauty... a 1976 Yamaha TT500. (Same as XT, but the off-road version - no lights, etc).

It was raced (flat track) in the US from '76 - '80, then boxed and brought to Dubai in pieces. Forgotten about, and recently re-assembled.
I think '76 was the first year of TT production.
Price tag... just over $3,000. IMO that's a collectors piece. I'm tempted...
Near perfect condition.

If it was totally stock it might be worth that, sort of a hodge podge of odd parts on it.Street bike seat has been mcgyvered on? I had a 76 TT and it was white and black and red.

^^^ yah, i think i agree with Foot Dragger, there...the saddle is an oddity, and that jemco exhaust has to be pretty recent...almost think some of the bike's bits-n-pieces didn't make it all the way to dubai. but overall it does look in good shape...

thing is, there were sooo many TT500s made, right? for 3 grand I bet you could find something that ran for far less and restore it yourself with the remaining $$...just my thoughts.

I do think these bikes are great, tho and me loves that tank!

Not many of those in DXB

I can think of a few places where that would be fun on the subkha.

saddle and pipe are definitely add-ons - the original TT had a upswept pipe.
Still looks sweet as candy.

yeah thats the weird thing, seeing one of these in Dubai. it's probably the only one in the country.

Fossil Rock is still there, hasn't been turned into skyscrapers yet...
If u lived here these vids might bring back memories, it's hemet cam videos I made round Dubai.

The first one is a ride towards Fossil Rock, along that track from Aweer village. Batteries died before we got to Fossil Rock.

Second is just a mix around Dubai.
