HONDA XLR 200 parts
Can anyone assist me with finding parts for a 98 XLR 200. The dealer says the were never made. I think the bike was imported from the phillipines. Was there a simular US model? Any websites for this bike?

are you sure its not a 250? Ive got an XLR80R and Ive seen an XLR250R. both are grey market (sold in Japan only) Ive searched extensively on the XLR line (not XL-R) and Ive never seen a mention of a XLR200R. can you post a pic? if nothing else Im sure alot of stuff is interchangeable from regular XL and XRs

There are many of those down here. It is an XR200R that is street legal. I have a 99XR200R and it is identical except for the street legal stuff.

Yeah, so I guess they made a dirt verion as well. I am playing hell tring to find parts for it. Right now I only need a turn signal, I can fab that off of almost any bike, so I am not worried about that, but if I need a clutch or somthing bike specific is where I fear I may run into a problem.

It looks like the south american engine (like what's in the US market CRF230F)
Your best bet is to find out the country of origin and work from there. Start hitting the Honda websites from countries south of the US border. The closest US market bikes will be the CRF150 and CRF230 Good luck

Parts are no problem
Greetings Dieseldave24v,
I am an American expat living here in Philippines. I own a 2004' XR200 I purchased new here. Honda still sell new XR200's (XLR) in the Philippines for p111,900 Pesos which is $2,750.00USD at current exchange rates. Here's a link- XR200 Honda Philippines I am cerain parts are still available for the 98 200XLR model. I have a friend here who is also an American Expat. He has an 89' 200XLR. He owns a camera shop business here and also sells Honda XR parts. He goes back to the US 2-3 times a year to visit family in Texas and he could probably bring back any parts you need. If you are interested in talking with him, PM me and I will give you his phone number here in Philippines. An other option Is to just call a dealer in Manila/Makati directly. They might be willing to ship any parts you need. Most everyone in Manila will understand English so try giving them a call. HONDA MOTOR SPORTS, INC. - Makati Address: 506-510 J.P Rizal St., Brgy. Olympia, Makati City Contact Number FROM USA DIAL: 011-63-2- 899-4372 If none of that pans out. I go back to US once a year usually in September and could get parts back to you or possibly just ship them to you from Philippines. Alan |

XR 200 (Philippines) = U.S? ordering parts pls help
Quote:
My name is bobby, I live in San Francisco but have a new Xr 200 in the Philippines (bought April 2010). I am interested in ordering some parts here for conversion (just a bit), I also have a problem regarding, whenever i call for parts all over the place, no one cant seem to be sure the counter part for Philippines XR 200 against U.S. version. Im most interested in 1. upgrading my fron/rear sprockets and chain to better heavy duty ;renthal models: but they are not sure what to sell me. 2. im interested in changing my stock lights into HID (trail lights) but they want to know which U.S. version also of our HOnda XR will be. any idea? someone suggested to me CRF 400 U.S. model up to 2004 would fit? thanks for your help. bobby |
