You could remove and reinstall, and see if that rectifies the problem. You could always try the DJH manual CCT as well. I've installed a Dirt Tricks with dramatic results myself, and judging by the simplicity of the product, it's hard to imagine it not working properly. Pop it out and make sure the o-rings are in place and that it moves correctly.

No where those passes usually get buldozed for the tourists on the 4th of July. Even in a good (dry) year you will not see the dirt till at least mid June. Black Bear just had a massive avalance on it last month.

The riding is pretty darn good right now, and getting better all the time. Check the Rockies Forum for more specifics.

That's probably a good idea. I'll give that a try.

Here's video I took yesterday of my first ride on the 530. It's going to take me a while to get use to the power and torque. Once I do I'm sure I'll be a bit smoother and fast as I was on previous bikes. So don't make fun of me to much. But if you listen closely, you can her the ticking I was talking about. Does this sound like CC noise?

Good luck with your ticking noise. I hope you get it figured out.

I too picked up a "new to me" '10 530. Other than a few hot laps around my yard, I've not had the opportunity to ride it yet. I'm looking forward to some trail time here soon.

What camera are you using for your video?

Hopefully it's just the CCT.

The camera is a ContourRoam HD. I've had it about 6 months now and it's been a great! Waterproof, shock resistant, records HD in 720, 960 or 1080 and it's extremely simple to use. It mounts on the side of the helmet and has a very low profile. Unlike the GoPro's. Highly recommended.

Designed my own front mount for the Go Pro and it works great! No worries in the bush and you can always see that it's still there. Doesn't bother me a bit when I am racing Hare Scrambles.

My 09 450 has the tick. I just replaced all the moving parts in the engine (for other reasons) and the tick still exists! I have the Dirt Tricks timing chain tightener and it made no difference. But, i have been paying attention to other 530s and 450s and have noticed all of them have the same noise coming from the engine.
The funny part is that the owners of the other bikes do not know what i'm talking about when I point it out on their bikes!
Mine has done it for a long time.

I have a new CCT on the way. I'll see if that does anything. But I guess that's good to know. Or not. Depending on you look at it. Maybe I'll just get better ear plugs so I can't hear it.

It's snowing now! We got a few, but it's really wet and not sticking to the roads. It's supposed to be 65 tomorrow and 70 Thursday, so I suspect it will be gone quickly. It was needed, actually.

Cool. It's looking like 3-4 inches here in Denver and it is sticking toi the roads.

Personally, I would not prefer a setup like that. But as long as it works for you that's all that matters.
