Curious why you didnt get the DirtBagz? Or are you thinking of maybe adding them later?

I did get a test ride on a WR250F that day, but not an "R" I was on my DR650.

I ordered this skidplate from the ThumperTalk store. Here is post I did with instructions how to order one for a WR250R. I believe the plate is made by Ricochet and that there are other online stores that carry it as well.

If you want a test ride, let's meet up and ride some time. I ride out of the Copke Lake area in Columbia County, NY. About an hour from Tucker's. We could go to one of the MA state parks ... or somewhere else. I am always looking for new places to ride.

I am happy to hear that everyone is happy with the new Yammie! To date I have been a skeptic but am starting to turn the corner. If anyone has one in the Salt lake area that would be willing to allow a test ride I would like to put a mile or two on one.

So on the dirt how easy is it to get the front wheel up on it?

Well ... I am certainly going slower than I was 35 years ago when I raced motocross and scrambles ... but I can get it up at will

Hi Wade,

No, no plans to add DirtBagz. The Wolfman stuff will carry all the crap that I want or need to haul into the bush.

As far as why the Wolfman stuff over the DirtBagz, I guess it's 2 things really. First, I've had Wolfman gear before, and it holds up really well to "mis-treatment" (not intentional, of course

), so it's a known product to me. Second, I wanted to be able to remove the luggage and not have anything left behind (like the mounting brackets for the Bagz). That second bit is just personal preference really. I hear the DirtBagz are excellent, they just weren't what I was looking for. The Bagz do have the advantage of keeping the weight down lower, but typically I haul my stuff to a camping spot, unload/set up, then go exploring from there, so I don't usually do really technical single track with the bags on my bike (again, not intentionally...but then ya never know what you'll find over that next ridge as you're getting to that "uber" camp spot....

).

Hi everyone. I just checked the Yamaha Motors usa website and was surprised to see no WR250 R or X for 2009. Does anyone know whats going on? Is Yamaha not selling the bikes. I only saw the xt250 and tw200 models listed for next year.
