The Santa Clarita Divide is twisties up to the road (Little Tujunga Canyon), over across dirt roads and other unprepared surfaces, eventually back over to another freeway and back down the twisties into LA via the Angeles Crest highway.

I know there are GPS tracks available in that thread over under the regional forum. If you head out of LA on the 5 north you can also go to Hungry Valley OHV in Gorman

I would be mostly interested in easy - moderate DS and dirt, or scenic twisty non-freeway roads. I'm considering bringing some camping stuff to do an overnighter somewhere. The info is mucho apreciado!!

Big Dog, Great info on that sight. The pics and links were very helpful. Between you and HF, most of what can be done to this bike so far is very well covered. Thanks a ton.
Well you sure can't beat the weather we're having here
right now. I rode my R² into work this morning and it
felt like summer out. Mid 60's at 7:00AM here in Central
California.

It's supposed to hit the upper 70's low 80's in areas
around here today. Southern Cal will be beautiful.

Shewolf ... you need one of these yellow things to go along with your blue R². So you can ride in all that lovely white fluff you have there.

Spark arrestor question

How necessary is the spark arrestor? Is it illegal to remove it? Just wondering...

It's extremely illegal---can get your vehicle confiscated and you a huge fine if caught in the forest.

And if it's as loud as mine was when I pulled it out just to anti-seize the bolts you'll be annoying the hell out of everybody and risking the future of our sport.

I wish I could find the post--but somebody on Adventure rider said--and I quote

"No way the WR250R is an adventure bike"

I'm calling you out dude---where you hiding.

(probably riding a 980 lb. overloaded behemoth that is 5ft. wide with crap packed up over his head)

anyway--this rider here wants to talk to him to.

Eh? Of course the WR250R can be used as an adventure bike.

- It's not the machine, but the man riding it that make it an adventure bike

A lot of the people who buy a big bore off road bike never use it for anything but a few thousand on road miles a year - where is the adventure in that

No that's not my bike---that guys pics and story are at this link
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=390890

No big tank yet-------I even intercepted an e-mail to aqualine from a guy who was just inquiring about a tank for the WR---they said maybe March and may have downsized it to 3.6 gallons. This didn't come from JustGasTanks--the last word I got form them was there was a month delay from the Dec. 31st proposed arrival of these things.

So--just waiting.

He's mounted it to either side of his bike.

There are no pics up yet, but the items seem pretty similar from bike to bike.
