You are KILLIN' me, was looking at that...

My R2 is at 16K, in good shape, just had an engine rebuild...and so maybe a switcheroo in my future?

Would love to hear all about it.

Congrat's on the Berg BTW.
I'm not sure HF was ever seriously considering a Tenere. I, on the other hand couldn't resist

Doesn't matter, as long as you can bring it inside, do it. It looks nasty cold there. I guess in summer you scoff at us southerners sweating in the heat as much as we do at you in the winter.

No longer a card carrying member

Recently sold my WRR when I moved on to this:

2010 Beta 400 RR (I converted it and tagged it)

I think I have found my "crack cocaine" of motorcycles!

Keep the WR. Nice to have a reliable "go to" dual-sport bike when the others blow up! Don't ask me how I know....

Crawdad check your idle setting. Mine had slowly gotten a bit too low and my bike became hard to start more than occasionally. Idle drooped down to 1200 or 1300 rpm vs the recommended 1450-1600 over the miles, 5min with a screwdriver and she's been purring since.

Once running, how's she run? Perfect, or "not so good"?

HF was gracious enough to help me debug a similar issue with my newly mod'd WRR (finally got around to opening her up) and reminded that these are pretty simple devices. You need air, fuel, and spark. In your case, assuming it runs "right" once running, the place I would look is fuel delivery since it's the only one of those three that changes cold -> hot (via the evil computer, with help from it's accomplices like air and engine temp sensors). Any chance your engine temp sensor is wonky and telling lies to your ECU, causing a too lean/rich mix during cold startup? In my case it was my fuel programmer (FMF) and once I removed it (as in unplugged it from the injector), my bike went back to flawless starting, hot or cold.

Runs/starts perfect.......once it's been running/hot

I tried new settings, going back to "factory" settings, and even the 0.5,0.5,0.5,x,x,x settings that theoretically "turns off" the programmer. No joy. The only thing that solved it was to physically remove the programmer by taking it out of the circuit between the ECU and injector.

Nope....no Super T for me. But, I did buy an F800GS a year ago. Put 13k on her so far. Love it!

Yup....good eye.

I drove 9 hours for the adoption. The ad said: "Wanted....a loving home". And there it was staring up at me in the photo with those big, sad, blue eyes. Duty called. It was a matter of the heart, you see. So, I had to go down there .

Oooooeeeee....they've got a lot of nice bikes inside those doors. You'd never think it just driving buy. You can check out my whole story in the Thumpers/70degree Thread. I posted several photos inside TJ's shop in my write-up over there. Just search around the last few pages. TJ pointed me westward to Hidden Falls Adventure Park....that's where I immediately went to break her in right properly. WOW...impressive ranch!

Naaaahhh.....he's afraid to get it dirty. Must be too fragile....I donno.

Makes me glad I bought the F800. I've ridden the whole K-Trail twice on it already. No problemo!
