That is what is making me lean towards having a very easy way to have the extra fuel when I need it, and not have it, when I don't.
Doug - do you know the empty weights of the stock tank and the IMS 3.1?

"Stock - 5lb 3oz; IMS 4lb 6oz. That's 13oz lighter for the IMS tank"

I remember there was'nt much interest in the WRR when I jumped in way back around page 30 in this thread (Post was in the 500 range, if I recall correctly). Been amazing to see how this thread has grown with contributions from so many. Our WRRdualsport.com site continues to see a tremendous number of page views. Glad all the effort has been so helpful to so many.

A lucky someone is likely to snatch a very impressive machine, unlike any other. Maybe I should hold an auction. Hhhmmm....

One of these days, i'm gonna come do a CORE ride! And yes, I do have a new project in mind. Another real good one! I'm kind of itchin to get started..

P.s. Serious private bids welcome via PM, if interested.

P.s.2 Someone recently posted Yamaha was dropping production on the WRR. Any truth to that? I've not heard this before. I looked on Corporate site and see 2013 models still listed for $6,690 msrp.
Only 10,600 miles?

It's still a baby!!!

I know.....still nice & fresh, but very tested & proven.

Heck, I've put 20,000 miles on my F800GS in less than two years. Darn Beemer got in the way, and now the Berg.

Poor Rē

Or, put another way, about half a liter of gas. So you lose the weight of that half liter to carry 4 more.

Saw it proudly on display at the Yamaha spread at the IMS show in San Mateo, CA today. Everyone that came near it was impressed, with people around the CRF250L saying it looked cheap.

Sweet looking R! Love the black. Whats the scoop on the wheels (they don't look like factory R wheels), and what tires (and sizes) are you running?

I just pulled the trigger and cut the deal for an immaculate '09 WR250R with 1900 miles...commuting to work miles!

Bought it for the CDR next August and other trips.

What do you say, 3.1 gal tank or 4.7 gal tank?

I have been thinking I need 220 miles+ range for one part of the CDR. I could do that easily with the 3.1 gal plus my Kolpin 1.5 gal extra. And that way, I could leave the Kolpin off for trail riding, or when I do not need the long range. Last year I rode the WABDR and the distance between gas was < 90 miles.

Obviously, the 4.7 has the RANGE for big trips. But as alluded to I was wondering about possible problems not to mention the physical size affecting trail riding...
HOPE THESE PICTURES HELP ABOUT THE THE BIKE CAN BE USED OFF ROAD WITH A BIG TANK
