I told my son two weeks ago I'm getting a WR . . . he asked me today "So . . . where's this new motorcycle you said you were getting?"

Still haven't heard anything from my dealer.

Well, the weather this weekend will be lousy so, I guess it's just as well.

Had to vent - sorry.

Nothing weird about that at all. I'd still be car-less if I didn't live in Alaska now. I love riding, but there's not much I want to do outside at -40.

Patience... He should at least be able to tell you where it is located.

It took about three weeks to get mine and I was itching to get out and ride the things the whole time. The only good thing is most of my farkles arrived before I go the motorcycle. So I was able to set it up from the get go the way I wanted it.

Thanks - with the nearly $1000 in off road riding gear I'm getting, the farkles will just have to wait . . . then again, I ask myself if the Werks helmet is really necessary . . . (ha) . . .

Ride safe, ride often,

I can't imagine how in a big city like Atlanta you can't find a 250r in stock... I live in a city in Canada of about 400,000 people and there are two dealerships within 30mins that have them on the floor

Amazingly WRR's seem hard to find new around Atlanta. I haven't been shopping since I own one, but I know my buddy (RSteiger) bought one some time back and had to wait a couple weeks for his to be shipped in from CA.

A local dealer down the road from me in a town of less than 15,000 people has had one on the floor for months; probably make someone a good price on it. I bought mine there new in 2010 and it was under $5,800 OTD, not sure what the one on the floor's going for. Smith Brothers Motorcycles in Oneonta, AL (no affiliation, just passing it along).

I'd make sure you have funds for Barkbusters and a skidplate. Otherwise, you'll likely soon be out funds for things less fun to buy than gear and farkles.

I personally like the MotoBatt's. They are AGM batteries which work well on a DS. The Scorpions are also AGM and run a bit cheaper. Ebay has some pretty cheap AGM batteries, but who knows how good they really are. I'd stay away from a non sealed battery on a DS bike.

I have a broken wrist right now, cast comes off in 3 weeks so I decided I'd get some work done at least since I can't ride...

Stock wheels are off I'm throwing on some new tires I bought, kenda trakmasters rear and pirelli mt21 in the front... gotta keep the tires inside for a bit let them warm up before I can try changing them.
