Just like everywhere else, nearly perfect. It is a little snatchy at throttle tip in, but it can mostly be ridden around or adjusted out.

How compensating is the FI when adding a pipe?
Its not in the US, we don't have an o2 sensor for the ECU to make its own adjustments. It'll run with a pipe and w/o a programmer, but it'll run a lot better with a fuel programmer (FMF, Attitude, PowerCommander, etc)

Is it necessary to remove the exup when adding a pipe or for any other reason?
Yes, to install an aftermarket pipe. No for other reasons imo.

Is the exup a drawback?
Maybe? I never rode mine with an aftermarket pipe to compare but I was never really unhappy with the stock output. Having it is heavier than not having it if you're looking to take weight off the bike.

The KLX appears to be about a grand less. The WR seems like a better bike, but is it?
Yes.

Hope that helps!
And don't forget the suspension. The WRR has a pretty darn good
handle on it right off the showroom floor. A little work and it goes
from good to great.

Thanks guys. The exup is holding me up a bit, if & when I get a pipe.
Other than that I'm leaning WR over KLX.

Do you think I'll need to re-spring for weighing 195 lbs geared up?
My old XR 250 always sat about 50% into the suspension just hopping on (I never did re-spring).

What about the exup is scaring you? The valve is attached to the pipe, the controller is attached with 2 bolts, and everything comes off the bike really easily.

The WR is sprung for a ~200 rider, you'll be fine there.

Don't sweat the Exup removal. Here's a thread on the cheap resistor servo-sub:

Thumb WR250R/X sprocket cover and case saver kits UPDATE!

Great news!

I am going to the laser cutters this afternoon to pic up the prototype sprocket cover to be used with our case saver. It is made of 1/4" CNC Laser cut 6061 Aluminum and will be going through a vibrator ceramic tumbler process for finishing. I hope to have pictures posted up later tonight of the finished product on the bike.

What I want you guys to start thinking about is the pre-order I will be doing for these. I have had to poop some pretty big $$ to get these made initially, and will need at least 6 people to order one of these kits at my initial price of $50 shipped in the USA....after that they will be $56 shipped in the USA and $63 shipped International....

The more people we can get the better it will be for production. I know this is about $5 more than the Zeta guard, but there is no case saver included with that. This will be for the complete kit, with all hardware needed included.

So thanks to all for the patience and fingers crossed the prototype fits and we can get these out the door in a week or two.

Let me know your thoughts on this.
