Markus,

That sounds great. I didn't get a quote from you on shipping if you have one available now. I need to get my aux tank by late October in time for the Baja. Keep me posted.

Keep us up to date on finding a US distributor - or just tell us to order from AQ.

Thanks! This is one upgrade I am desperately looking forward to!

Gary: What is it about buying from a US Distributor or AQ that appeals to you? Bruce

Getting an underseat fueltank would be the main appeal for most of us.

I mean, why not go directly to Markus for your tank like I did.........I did the research on postage (42E via German Post) ...... or do you feel more comfortable dealing with a US distributor? Bruce

Markus doesn't want to be the main distributor for north america. He wants to find someone else to do the distribution. You're the exception to the rule. We're all a little jealous & trying not to be bitter.

Markus is an artist and craftsman and, of course, he does not want to get into the packaging, mailing business......he wants to make cool stuff......that said, he also has a great deal of money invested in a product that will only fit HP2's make in 2005/2006, and in limited numbers.....he will likely have to discount the product if he sells in units of 100 or more (distributor pricing) vs. selling individually......(the dollar is strengthening, but you are going to use up a lot of $1000 buying the tank and having it shipped) My view when going direct to Markus was that until the ink is dry on a distributor agreement for NA, Markus is free to sell direct......which is always going to be cheaper than thru a distributor.....wait if you like or wave some readies in Markus's direction...while he can't market the tank openly when searching for a distributor, I'm thinking he also can't say NO to a stack of Frankies.....your choice....Bruce

Sounds right to me, Bruce.

(haven't heard 'readies' in a while )

I am all for buying direct from Markus - indeed I will do so gladly, if that is an option. As was stated above, I have been operating under the impression that Markus did not want to be involved in packaging and shipping, and was actively looking for someone to handle the retail for the item.

If Markus will PM me the payment instructions, I will buy the kit today!

Thanks

FYI: The tank has appeared on the Africaqueens website for 395 EUR. Apparently that does not include:

The holding rod (Haltestrebe) is 110 EUR,

the electrics (elektrische steuerung) is 120 EUR ,

and the pump (elektrische pump) is 120 EUR.

All 4 items together is 745 EUR.

That's pretty comparable to funhouse's deal so unless Markus chimes in soon I'll go with Africaqueens.

... I just put an order in at Africaqueens. Strangely, the bill was for only 625 EUR. That's a little weird. The webpage also doesn't give you the option between the black or white tank, although it says the option is available... I sent them an e-mail to try and clarify.
