Autocom Wiring
Hi all just scored a good bargin on fleebay and picked up a easi-rider autocom system, i'm going to hook it up to my uniden UH078sx and mp3 to my 640A the questions are how have you all wired yours up eg
(1) where did you mount the plugs. (2) are the cables long enough if you stand on the pegs or do you need longer ones. (3) Is there anything i need to watch out for. Reon |

Main thing to watch with the -078 is that it has a metal case and if you mount it so it contacts the frame you'll end up with an "earth loop" and ignition noise through the system. So keep it insulated and you'll be OK.

(1) Rider's lead is cable tied to the bar on the left side. Pillion lead is cable tied near the pannier mount on the left, near the pillion's leg when seated. Easy for the pillion to connect/disconnect here. She connects before getting on, disconnects after getting off (2) Should be long enough if you have the lead going up to the bar, I've had no trouble with it. You can get a coiled lead which stretches a bit more, and I believe you can get longer leads too (3) Rammstien makes me ride like a fucking lunatic I have some pics here: http://peka.smugmug.com/gallery/3908179_gArfm |
