no that is what I am talking about!!!

Hey Baboon
FANTASTIC PICS!

You live in a beautiful country - and your bike looks right at home in the dirt and snow!

Thank you - I was truly beginning to think that the only action these bikes were getting was sitting on abike stand in the garage getting wrenched.

Teeth to the wind,
Sno Dawg

All I ever read on this thread is about wrenching, fixing problems, and making improvements.

riding adventures, pics, mileage milestones?

  • 3 sets of chain and sprockets
  • 1 exploided exhaust muffer (Remus Revolution Titan)

Looking east towards Bakersfield a couple weeks ago. Great campsite: Valle Vista, all to myself at 4,500'.

Yesterday in the Cache Creek about an hour from home, in cool weather mode.

Looks nice.

Question for you: what seat are you riding?

Somebody just did this, you should be able to Google it. I do know the swing arm and left side lower frame casting have to come off.

Laugh bravo - my faith in all of you is restored

pics from Serbia, Romania, Belgium, Africa, California etc - so many great riding pics!

Thank you Thank you

It is so great to see these bikes really being used as they were intended. I have seen so many XChallenges for sale recently that look like they have never seen dirt/snow. I really loved the ride report of the XChallenge touring through Africa. What an amazing land with beautiful people.

Thanks you and keep the pics and stories coming. It looks like a long cold winter is on the way - I hope it involves a lot of riding.

Teeth to the wind,
Sno Dawg

Just did mine too. Have you got the parts? You will need the impeller shaft as well as the seals. Not too complicated but it took me a while. No special tools required. Torx bit for the right side swingarm bearing, a set of allen keys up to 10mm, some spanners and sockets should do. Exhaust studs might be a bit tight to remove. Water pump cover has an o ring. Left side cover is a paper gasket.

Have over 25K miles, most of it off pavement. A few rides on the X

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=838747

This ride had 2 X's along

Could go on all day, but you should get the point. The X is made for riding.
