I finally filled the new tank with gas and took it out for a test run. 2.3 gallons. It seems the cap is not vented so I'll get one in the next few days. After opening the aux cap after 16 miles there was gurgling then the level of gas went down. Only ran about 38 miles today.

I had posted this in the garage section, but this is probably the better location. Help!

xchallenge instrument woes
Tried that, they are soundly attached. The bike never dies out when the lights go off, and it always has power to the ignition system for starting.
I have also noticed that when the key is turned but the engine not started that the problem does not occur. thanks for the response. |

I bought the Trackside clutch lever for a Suzuki RM250 at Cycle Gear for $11 and it fit perfectly.

voltage check
Anybody able to do me a favour? Pop out to your bike switch on the ignition but don't start the motor. Switch the display to voltage and tell me your reading. Mine is showing 11.8V steady with the headlight off but drops down towards 11 once the headlight is turned on. The bike has developed a habit of cutting out on idle during the last few weeks and I'm thinking the battery might be on the way out but don't want to replace it if it is still good.

Thought I'd start the year out right. A little cool this morning, mid 30's. Recent rain caused a rare submersion of the bridge to Reiff Road.
![]() Headed over to Bartlett Springs Road for lunch in Clear Lake Oaks. Ran into some snow and ice between 3 and 4 thousand feet.

Not on me. I'm sorry. I looked up the RM250 in their book that was on the shelf by the levers and took a shot based on the table in the first post in this thread. I know it was Trackside brand.

Ohlins adjustability
I'm close to pulling the trigger on an X-Challenge that was just fitted with an Ohlins rear shock. For most folks this might be good news, but I'm inseam-challenged (30") and have concerns about being able to lower that shock. I sat on Butters' bike with the stock air shock lowered a bit with no issues, and I've already bought the BMW low seat to help even more. The dealership is willing to swap out the Ohlins for another shock that I'd buy (maybe a Hyperpro), and they won't charge labor. Also, I'd have a practically new Ohlins to sell.
I don't really know much about suspensions and I'd be dependent on a shop for any tinkering. That being said, any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Michael |

Should you consider the airshock, I wouldn't recommend lowering the pressure to lower the ride height though as the shock will still go to full extension whenever you unweight the suspension, including on braking resulting in the bike pitching forward. It does work well but only with the pressure set correctly for the weight of the rider giving the correct amount of sag. |
