I hope the XCh is as "ON" as my F650 was....20,000 miles and valves were always within spec...Absolutely amazing.

Swap out the ADV sub-frame, put a standard GS sub-frame on it and get some custom seats made and momma will be real happy, and you will still have a Big Trallie overland bike.

You got that thing real nice, if you sell it someone is going to thank you big time...
She is gone Russ, 1 demo ride on the LT and that was it. I am looking to get a TT tank/panniers for the X for some longer dirt riding and BCBTR4.

You should see me ride the X

And guess what.... Backorder on all three items
The worst part is that she couldn't quote me on when they are availible again

AND, this was from TT Germany
So, if someone know's of a TT store that have them in stock, please guide me in the right direction...

Here in the USA, the TT-USA site says they are accepting pre-orders for the rally fairing. I don't think they've shipped any here in the US.

A service (including valves) should be made every 10000 km (approximately 6000 miles) on the G650.

BMW has what they call a Service and another thing called an Inspection. Inspection is a Service, but with some additions. Every 10000 km (6000 miles) you should do one or the other and they both include a valve check.

It's like this:
1000 km (approximately 600 miles) - Running-in Check
10000 km (approximately 6000 miles) - Service
20000 km (approximately 12000 miles) - Inspection
30000 km (approximately 18000 miles) - Service
40000 km (approximately 24000 miles) - Inspection
... and so on.

Add to that the annual inspections.

In the second post of this thread you will find the complete maintenance schedule and I'm pretty sure the service interval mileages can be found in your owner's manual as well.

I always thought a service is an inspection, with some additions
(while BMW still did the services for my 1200)

For a G650 Inspection you're supposed to change the air filter and spark plugs, visually inspect the brake hoses and check the battery charge. So for that bike the Inspection list is longer despite the fact that fluid change in the forks is on the list for Service (but only at every 30000 km).

Maybe it's different for other bikes but perhaps it's not so important which one is the largest? In my opinion what's important is to understand that Service and Inspection are two different things and for the owner to know when you're supposed to do which. In my previous post I tried to explain that, with links confirming it, because there is incorrect information about it around.

Just ordered the Ranger. The Scouts will not be available for about a week. Was told about an inch away from the exhaust ( stock pipe ) for clearance.

Field Tire Repair

What tools are you guys carrying with you for tire repair?

Finding something that is small-ish for taking off the wheel nut (26MM) is pretty tough...

Any other good tool tips?
