We sure had a great time on your Swinging Bridges Ride Gary. It would have been even better with good weather throughout.

Day 4 - Sovereign ATV/Copper Ridge

Today we took a ride on Sovereign ATV/Copper Ridge.

It wasn't particularly entertaining. After a short while, we moved on to something else. This is what the area looks like from 1000' up.

It was kind of flat compared to what we had been riding.

Not a lot of cliffs to run off of (for most of it anyway).

The ATV trail got kind of fun though. Turned into a sporty ride.

It had been in the 30s that night. It was about 60 now, but the sun was warm.

We decided to move back up to the high country on a combination of trails that included the 7 Mile Rim.

I offered, but nooo... you had to run off w/Jay to Mississississippi or some place! ... and I used to live there! Well at least I can rely on friends like Cannon and Dirty. They like to ride and have fun.

I just got back today. Followed up with a little riding in Montrose w/my brother, his SO and her sister and husban. A little different type of terrain!

Day 4 - Part 2 7 Mile Rim

Tired of the flat land, we moved back into the high country to ride a combination of roads and trails including the 7 Mile Rim.

Lunch Time

When on rock, follow the painted trail markers.

Still some riding time left in the day, so we thought we would head back over Hurrah Pass to check out the Jackson Hole trail.

Day 4, Part 3 (Jackson Trail)

We went back over Hurrah Pass to take a ride on the Jackson trail. Instead of continuing to Chicken Corners, you turn north and loop around a mesa.

You never know what you will see out on the trail.

This is typical of the Jackson trail. Lots of rough rock surfaces. Sometimes it drops into a sandy waterway. We rode it up to the mesa loop and then headed back to town.

Headed back to town.

Thanks for riding along.

Well, that pretty much covers it. We hoped to share a sample of some of the riding opportunities in and around Moab so that maybe a few others might consider taking a trip out there to enjoy the scenery and the riding. Hopefully the pictures provided a good picture of what to expect. For those that have already ridden the area, hope it brought back some great memories.

Seems like there is a ride for everyone in the area. It seems like the more trail worthy the bike, the more opportunities and fun available.

Happy to answer any questions.

"Boy, we sure looked like tired puppies in that last group of images!"

This was my second year at Moab, which I hope many other riders will be able to do. But there is a lot going on with the BLM and DNR, that may close this and other riding areas. So get involved! The "so called" green groups, like the Sierra Club, have the upper hand. We need to be heard in numbers and in depth, plus a few $$ to the Blue Ribbon Coalition. www.sharetrails.org/alerts

Wow, Cannshot!
Thanks for posting the great descriptions, pics and maps.
My partner and I are heading out there in Sept. We plan on starting out with the easier trails, including White Rim and La Sal, and taking it up from there. We are also planning on doing the Kokopelli for an overnighter in Grand Junction. We're going for the major fun factor with a WR250 and 400 exc.
THANKS, again!

Thought I would add a shot from DD's & my ride back to camp w/o Cannon, who was waiting for us to return with his truck. His last flat tire!
At some point I will upload all my images to critic.smugmug.com
