Garmin 2610 Bubbling Screen

My Garmin 2610 has recently developed a bubbling screen.

How can I fix it?

Is it common?

I hope its still on Warranty.

That SUCKS. It's not located on your bike where a windscreen might be acting like a magnifying glass on it, is it ?

I don't believe you can. You're going to have to send it back to Garmin for repair.

Wow, where do you take that thing? Is that sand around the buttons?

Anyway, call Garmin. Garmin has been known to repair their stuff even when the unit is well out of warranty. Other times, they're not so liberal. I think it depends on who you happen to talk to on the phone.

Probably the GPS isn't worth fixing if you have to pay for it... you might talk them into giving you credit toward a newer GPS.

It almost looks like the protective plastic on the screen wasn't removed. Or it's a look into the future on some bleek 3d terrain

It is common. I had two units do it to me. My problem was I'd leave it on the bike all the time and repeated exposure to condensation caused the screen to separate.

Garmin replaced mine with same model the first time and the second time gave me a similar model since the 2610 was discontinued. I miss my 2610

mine did that. I managed to pick off the bubbling layer; it sort of flakes off. Then I bought some screen protectors from Staples and cut one down to fit. It works well enough now. It's not pretty, but I can still use the touch screen and see it.

Andy always seems to get more. Full warranty. I've bought many with no problems.

Question Sun Damage?

Any chance it was exposed to direct sun for any length of time?

I saw your post too late, I just posted this...

I'll try to get the bubbling layer off and replace it with a screen protector.

That sucks...
