KLR progressive spring upgrade...

I just did the LR Progressive spring upgrade on my 05 Klr. Before the upgrade wheelies were smooth at landing. Now when I pull the front tire off the ground, it's very hard when I touch back down, as if I'm bottoming out. Did I do something wrong on install or is this the way the progressives feel.
