The way we were or Help/info needed re DVD's

G/day all

I have been given a dvd of some fascinating rides from yesteryear.
It covers a Worlds End rally, in the Flinder Ranges 1976, a Castrol 6 hour coverage when BMW won on a R100S (1977?), the second Centre rally held in Alice Springs 1978, the BMW rally at Wiperfield NP 1978, and the 1st Off Center rally held in Innaminka in 1984, plus other rides.

The movies are in colour and were shot by Phil Irvine ( a life member of the Vic BMW club) who has given the BMW club of Vic all of his tapes, which have been now put on a DVD.

There is no audio on any of the rides.

I would like to add audio to the DVD, by recording people who feature in the various rides, and then put it up in some format so that everyone can see what we did 30 odd years ago.

There was no such thing as Adventure riding in those days, we called it rallying and rode road bikes over some very interesting roads.

I being a nerd when it comes to technical stuff, need help, advise, info etc as to how to go about this project

First download the DVD to your hardrive, record the audio you want to use onto your computer. Then any DVD editing program will have the ability to put the audio onto it. I know that sound overly simplified, but most programs will be self explanitary.
