Its possible I didn't let it warm up enough. I fully accept that I could be the cause of this. I'm human after all. .

I'll check for scoring on the exhaust side but I recall only seeing it on the intake. Would this still be indicative of cold seize?

Andrew Gore

Edit: Just looked at the cylinder this morning. Blame is all on me. 4 Scores & 14 year old pistons ago.....

I heard Moose once swapped pistons on a bike while he was gapping Larocco's Leap while simultaneously flipping the 1 fingered salute to the crowd in the grandstands.

My guess is that it was cold siezed before Gore got his destructive little hands on it.

If it was a lean burn down, it would have melted the exaust side of the piston and it generaly wont sieze, they just stop running for lack of compresion.

lastly, 100:1 is a death wish, 50:1 and wipe up a little spooge now and then, you'll never foul a plug.

Hey, look at the bright side Andy, it should only take a few months to get a piston for that Spanish hunk o' shit.

80:1 has been the preferred OEM recommendation for trials oil ratio for years. Many people will run 100:1 with excellent results. These engines are primarily low revving motors with short burst to high RPM. They should never see high RPM running like any other two stroke competition may see.

If you run at 40 or 50:1, you willl lose your low end throttle response and your bike will generally run like shit. Now if you mistakenly mixed your oil to 200:1, maybe you might have some issues.

100:1 a death wish...

I'll dump this fuel, as to not risk if I did mix it 200:1 somehow.

Parts are all in stock for the thing as well. Just gotta ship them my cylinder.

i am thinking 80/1 is the leanest mix i would ever try regardless of what everyone else says and thats on a bike thats not mine.
50/1 full syn motul for 20 years without an engine problem/seize.
listen to old people, a little rich never hurt anything.
full syn will burn clean vs lesser earls
i really hope you didn't mix bean/dino oil at 100/1
crappy oil use 32/1 , good oil 50/1 , maybe 60/1

I mix with this stuff called NOS from wal-mart. I was told I could mix it at 200:1 but figured id be safe at 100:1.

Am I doing something wrong?

Doug, can you verify this info with bubbas manager?
