Looks like I'll be riding the Sand Goblin event Sunday. If you see a #973 by a black enclosed trailer, or upside down in the woods, stop and say hi.

Then again I really like my 2000 250EXC but its not plated and would need to be wired for lights. It's funny I've never paid more than $2500 for a dirt bike so the 300XC would be mentally painful to fork over the cash.
In the mean time I will have fun on the 250. Funny how a 2000 model can put such a smile on my face.
Buy the bro's 450 and keep the 250 as a backup . I am sure he'll cut you a deal with good terms .

That's Moose's excuse too. But he's a fag and doesn't want us to know his closet is already full of the stuff.

After watching the Smage Bros at Woodstock KTM yesterday I really want a trials bike! LOL

So where do you get a trials bike around here? Any dealers to go look at one? Where do riders usually post their used ones for sale?
There are a few here. Gores, and a couple others,

No joke. Driving to work crossing over the bridge on wilmot road, its way high. Luckily my house is well above the nippersink. If I were flooded, all of fox lake would be under 10' of water

Andrew.

Gore, you might wanna make sure the recall was done on your 05' WR450, they sheared flywheel keys, tapers on the crankshaft were off, recall was to lap the 2 tapers together then lock-tite it.

My buddy Warner bought one and had trouble, it kept shearing keys even after the recall, he even called some peeps he knew at Yamaha corp. and told them the proper fix was to replace the crank and flywheel both, they refused, after it broke for the 4th time, he sold the bike.

Shame your buddy didn't have the internet. The keyway issue was only in 2003, the first year of electric start on the wr450.

The issue actually wasn't the keyway, though that was what everyone blamed. Even the Yamaha tsb said to retorque the flywheel nut and loctite it.

The actuality was that the problem was a torque limiting gear between the starter and the flywheel was manufactured improperly. The torque limiter did not properly slip, so if the bike back fired during e-start, it would sheer the keyway on the flywheel ans crank.

All this was fixed the following year in 2004. You can easily spot the difference by the cover over the starter. In 2003 it was flat, and in 2004 it bumps out about a 1/2" and has a slight cone shape to it.

Shame your buddy didn't know this. To fix a 2003 bike was about 100$ in parts.

OK so what other problems does my bike have that I haven't already spent countless hours reading about online?

Shall I report in on the post-rfs ktm engine oil migration issue? Or how honda crf-r bikes valve trains and cranks suck? How about how ktm made the 500 auto decompression exhaust cam wrong, causing all sorts of issues.

I may spend a few minutes a day reading up on lots of issues.

Coffee time suckas.

Andrew.

Hey Guys, any of you wear the Fox Titan body type armor? It's the ones that you wear under your jersey and look to have the pads connected by mesh.
I'm thinking about buying one but they look like they would be real hot and constricting. Thought?
