Karoo2 vs. tkc80
Having a hard time finding tkcs in stock on line.... Anybody have any input on the two ? I have not tried the karoo 2 tires... I do like the tkcs...

I've used both as fronts on an 1150GS, and run a Karoo2 front on an Adventure640 as well.
The TKC was great on the loose stuff and good in the dry, but downright scary in the wet on the roads. The karoo2 seems much better on the road, works almost as well on the loose stuff (nitpicking differences), and is much better in the wet. Both wear out twice as quick as a road tyre, and last about the same. I prefer the karoo2 myself. It seems to be a better all-rounder. NOTE: Both tyres take a while to scrub in properly. A road tyre would scrub in in around 50 kms, but the knobby type tyres seem to take a good couple of hundred to start working properly. Dunno why. |
