Well if an adventure like that doesn't solidify a bond between father and daughter, not much else will. Hopefully the doghouse wasn't too full after Mrs. Larryboy got wind of it.
With a start like that, drivers ed will be pretty snoozy. |

Well done ride report, Megan. The song, which I had never heard, was a good pick and a good 'launch'. And very good photos also. Hooray for you and hooray for your Dad for caring enough about you to, 1-want to take you along, and 2- want you to learn how to ride(or handle a sidehack). If you don't ever try to learn a new skill, especially one that most of your contemporaries don't do, you don't have to worry making mistakes in the learning process, but you also join the ranks of the folks who hardly do anything worthwhile(out of the ordinary) in a whole lifetime.

Glad You're Okay
Nice writeup Miss Adventure,
I can definitely see your Dad's influence in your writing style and photography. I'm sure he's very proud of you. Have fun and please be safe, -Neil

Will do, Rash. Maybe next spring if we can pull it off. I never really intended to make a hack driver out of her..just saw a wide open road and said what the heck...should have had her stop before that section. Oh well, I'm just happy that things didn't end up worse. |

Great report - a duet of sorts. The pix and commentary from both of you is a pleasure to read. Rob, that picture at the end of your slide show with Miss Adventure's helmet on the fencepost - I say it should be front page material. Megan, it was great to meet you - and I'm really glad that your injuries are -relatively- minor.

Good for you, Megan, for your fearlessness, creativity, and good nature. This story will make a great college application essay one day if you are going that route.
I can tell your Dad's been beating himself up over this, and maybe you too. I guess if we all knew everything would be peaches and pie, it wouldn't be an adventure. So cheers to your cleverly-named "mis-adventure": you have overcome adversity and are stronger and wiser for it. And you learned that tools are good, and good friends with trailers are ... even gooder! Now get back on that horse!
