A few miles north of where this pic was taken, a black bear was ambling through a residential neighborhood. Its a dangerous place. Stay away.

Job offer in Manassas

Damn stop this thread I just got a job offer in VA. Offer is in Manassas, how far outside of there does one have to go to be in open country. I cummute 1 hour and 10min now in CT the F@#&^g northeast and want to live in the open if I move. But no hour commute.

You'll have to commute an hour here too.

But it's Va not Ct. That's a better commute right there.

I saw about 5 or 6 acres in a town called Nokesville about 10mls from Manassas with a house for about 350-400k is that possible ???
From the google Earth it looks pretty Rural there.
don't mind my ideas of open country I live about 65 mls from NYC at the moment and mostly work in large city recycling plants.

absolutely poss., the housing market was hit hard here. houses that were 600k-800k are now closer to 400-600k. most of these are brand new. Nokesville is a sleepy little bedroom type of community, kind of like a modern day Mayberry. You will be very close to some sweet ass roads. If you lived in Nokesville and worked in manassas, your commute shouldnt be to bad.
