Kennedy Meadows is located east-northeast of Kernville (WARPED event location) and west of Death Valley off hwy 395 and 9-mile canyon in the Sequoia National Forest off the Sherman Pass Road:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/download.php?Number=409015&t=k&om=1

There’s tons of easy to hard single track for green sticker bikes and dual sport bikes. There's also lots of fire-roads and the beautiful Monache Meadow 4x4 trail (actually quite easy >>> noob approved).

Here are a few links from my previous trips there:

August 2006:

June 2007:

The August trip had better weather than June…no bugs either. Even though it would be hot down on the desert floor, the weather is very pleasant at 8000’ elevation.

http://raws.wrh.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/roman/meso_base.cgi?stn=BKRC1&time=GMT

Weather in September has a high in the mid-70'sand a low in the low-40’s.

The Troy Meadow overflow camping area is FREE and based on a first come – first served policy. I plan on trailering in Thursday to claim our section of the campground large enough to accommodate the amount of folks on the sign-up list.

If you're in, please include your first name so I can include it on the sign-up list.

Im for the August date. The 4th Annual / WMRS IV In Bishop CA http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...61#post7010261 is the last weekend of July and would make it tough to do those 2 trips one right after the other.

Hi Rich,
where is Kennedy Meadow anyway?
it seem like you have done that place before.
Can you give me a link to your past posting for that ride.
Like to know more about Kennedy Meadow before I go.

Late Sept or Oct is really a good time to go, a lot cooler but that’s not necessary. It is a lot less crowded though. Are you running DS bikes or real off road MC’s. I really wouldn’t want to ride a KLR on a lot of the single track with DS tires.

As long as you have an approved spark arrestor. If you're running the stock gas tank you might want to get a larger tank, see you there Ben

I already have a 3 1/2 gln tank. But after the Afton canyon ride I better carry a xtra gln. As for the spark arrestor I have the pro circuit usfs approved pipe. Ben

There’s tons of easy to hard single track for green sticker bikes and willing dual sport bikes.

Here are a few links from my previous trips there:

Weather in August has a high in the low 80’s and a low in the 40’s.

Since the July date is a bit too close to the WRMS Bishop ride, I’ll go ahead and plan on August 29-31 (Fri-Sun) dates. The original August 22-24 dates conflicted with my current, yet temporary, bull-s*#t work schedule (every-other Saturday)…sorry for the mix-up. The Troy Meadow overflow camping area is FREE and based on a first come – first served policy. I plan on arriving Thursday evening to claim our section of the campground large enough to accommodate the amount of folks on the sign-up list.

I'm out, Nascar races at the California Speedway are the same dates. Damn, I would have taken the YZ, it's faster, lighter, and suspended!
