Oregon gas problems?

Has anyone experienced hard starting or other problems with the new Oregon gas ethanol mix? Can we expect trouble in the future?

Ethynol is hygroscopic so there's a high probability that you ended up with some water in you fuel system. Add a little HEAT and all you'll have to worry about is decreased fuel mileage and high prices

Wicked Define Problem..

Gas just went to $3.99=87 $4.09=89 and $4.19= 91..D = $4.79

Mileage does drop with ethanol and don't let it sit in tank too long...ethanol absorbs/affinty for water...out here in damn near zero humidity no biggee..on coast..well a potential issue..but hey, nobody said saving the planet was going to be easy or cheap!

It'd be one thing if ethanol was saving the planet, but as far as I can tell, what it mostly does is screw the consumer.

Why do you hate mega agro-business and corn subsidies?

poorer mileage, and lessened performance to I feel. So, our gubmint is doing the normal thing pandering to mega corp, you get less, but it costs you more. Kinda like organized crime, I wonder if heroin is getting more expensive, ain't the gubmint got a hand in that too?

Oregon gas problems? Only with the meth addicts that pump the gas.

Corn Liquor is for drinking not for pouring into our gas tanks.

Shameful..

It DOES seem to be a shameful waste of fine mash, doesn't it.

Fred Meyer here in Boise is now selling ethanol blended (10%) gasoline.

I've gotten over 50 mpg on my last three tanks

No decrease in power, still starts easy.

I have had no problems with starting on any of my bikes, carbed or EFI.
I stored them over the winter with full tanks of the E10 gas (that is all that was available) in unheated garage.

I have experienced 10% drop in milage on bikes & cars with no other changes. I can say this with certainty because I ran them on 100% gas in baja and then came over the border with the same equipment and saw the milage reduction with E10. Plus the increased costs of stateside gas!
My track bike runs good so far on Chevron Supreme, just costs almost 2X for fuel vs. a year ago! I haven't run a carb'd bike at high altitude yet 'cause the high roads are still covered with snow. I know my 2 stroke 250 runs like shit on E10 especially when cold; it may need some rejet work.

Future trouble? I think more diligence in keeping fuel system filters clean and tanks full when parked long-term will help. Use StaBil at 2X reccomended dosage when laying up bikes for the winter with the tank full.
Carbureted bikes may need to go richer, but I haven't seen/heard of anyone doing this yet.

The Big Corn lobby is going to keep sticking it to us on ethanol. It is a subsidized ripoff of Oregon consumers. I have not seen any evidence of actual air pollution benefits. This sort of data is hard to come by, but common sense says that if I'm getting significantly worse milage that I'm blowing more combustion products out the tailpipe per mile than before E10. I think the air pollution issue is no better than a draw and was used to sell this program to the legislature.

Moving to Mexico is looking better and better all the time!
