Nice. Always good to see a BMW breaking a new trail. A rare event but it happens. Too bad I was so jet lagged as to see it first hand. Maybe next week.

UTBDR: Starting Section 4 and heading north Sept. 7 & 8

I'm planning on riding to Wellington from Ogden Sat. Sept 7 to hop on the UTBDR and head north. Will complete the route on Sunday and head home. If anyone is up for some fun let me know. . I'll be riding the F650GS/dakar/yamakar.

That's not a new trail. That's getting around a tree that fell across our secret single track...

He just might have accomplished that item at Wamsutter, one of the most scenic, hospitable and downright awesome spots on the I 80 corridor.....

Dood, I'm Jonesing bad for some BADB-ing. Home improvements and camper trailer swapout have nearly consumed my summer. At least we had some good family time.

But now I'm ready to abandon the dam fam and git to biking. Gotta do a shakedown cruise to test the overnight accouterments.

What're y'all doin this weekend?

Just an FYI for anyone heading south that the Grand Staircase road reports are being regularly updated. there has been a lot of rain in last couple days and pretty major damage.

Those two tropical storms creamed Baja ..... both the Pacific and Sea of Cortez got a 1-2 punch....

San Felipe:

Random highway vados.....

From what I'm reading here, Loreto has been hit particularly hard, with 200 homes flooded and 400 people evacuated.

Loreto harbor:

The road from Loreto to San Javier is destroyed...

Mainland got hit hard too...Barrances del Cobre region without on the ground pics...

That was Ivo, then Juliette went up the Pacific side....

Todos Santos:

Not as many pics from the Pacific side yet.....our pals in Mulege did OK with this set of storms but it's still early season and more storms are likely....plus you won't find this stuff reported on our local outlets......
