Camping... Coordinates. Go to Green River. Take Airport Road south (under the highway). About a mile down, make a left onto the large dirt road at the Y with a large BLM sign. Go about 2.4 miles if I remember correctly. Basically there develops two fairly strong straightaways around 2 miles. Pass the first one. The second one is slightly lower / in a basin, and at the end is a sharp right turn. Sharper than any other turns on the road. At the bottom of the turn or maybe 50 feet in front of it is a dirt road going down to the left. Go about 1/4 mile to the river. Sometimes there are other folks camping there so we might not be right on the river, but the ideal spot is right on the river...

Keep in mind you'll be endlessly BSing with a couple whiskey drinkers who look this guy... Just for fair warning.. But certainly very welcome to join us!

I hope the weather will treat y'all well. If it clears up a bit tomorrow, I might try and swing down from Vernal to say hi.

. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Anyhoo.....it's not looking good for me to get out there tonight. I'm hoping to drive up during the afternoon tomorrow. Thanks for those directions....I think........ If you see me driving back and forth through the desert looking for extra sharp turns that lead off into the desert, flag me down ok?

And remember.:

I could use some suspension work on my 800 too. Want to try stiffer springs in the front and I have need to replace the seals. Keep me informed if you find someone. Thanks

Replacing the stock fork inserts with adjustable Ohlins will make your bike handle like a different bike, better than new. A friend just installed the Hyperpro fork springs and oil; he says it improved his 800 dramatically. The fork inserts aren't cheap, but having adjustable settings is the bomb...

No joke about the 2x4 KTM seat. It sucks, it will get replaced...one day. I have much more to keep track of than my sore ass after 30 min. High strung race bikes on the street with race slicks, no rad fan and needing 98 octane or better keep things interesting.
