Kev, sorry I can't come play on the San Diego strafing run. Couldn't get the time off work for both weekends. Its was toasty for sure two weeks ago running across CA... "But officer I was only going this fast for cooling affect! Heat stroke while riding is a serious safety concern! Sir." Have a good run.
I bolt to the PCH after the mtns but there are toasty times if I do the sequoias. I've been through there during fires.

for anyone that cares, the GIS part of GISkev is for Geographic Information Systems... Maps hooked to databases. Spatial Analysis...

Thanks for the responses. I was going to hit up the current pannier vendors if I couldn't find a local solutions.

Was starting with this route, just hoping someone already had options to save the research...

That tiger took on obstacles I don't like with the 525! Props for taking the beast down the single track instead sticking to the safe paved roads.

Tiger is running fine. Smoke show was just a special touch to celebrate the Fourth.

AF scares me on my 520 but I shred sh! T like that on a mountain bike. Having said that, I'd say your happy survival of eagle cyn in the swell on your super10 is more difficult terrain though better consequences if you fail, meaning your bike doesn't go off the edge into oblivion.

Just need someone to go up there with a block and tackle and convince that boulder to slide
down the hill.

There's a couple ex scoutmasters that have experience toppling rocks that might video the process for you!

Another solo three day trip down south to link up a few things i've been pondering for awhile became a comedy of errors on my part, losing my license plate, exploding camelbak, two or three wrong turns etc etc etc but fun was still had and I still pulled off a few of my original goals. A few pics here, havent had time to sort through the gopro yet. Had some single, some double, some washes some cross country and some lightning. What else you need? Oh, hot right? It was damn hot, but that kept the riff raff away...

Home base:

Went north first, pieces of the old railroad grade culvert system from 1880

Then back south on a single track the map claimed was there, but I only found parts of it..

Some good wash roosting

Damn wrong turns...

This guy posing for me at sunset

Said sunset

Best post ride cool down ever - ice cold PBR just out of view:

All in all, went from Indian creek, to the northern swell, to Hite, to the dirty devil, to Caineville, white wash in a big loop...good times...
