Ive argued with everyone over on motoutah about that spot and the spot just past it. Don't pull that boulder out of the way. Shit happens and we all fall over. That spot has more consequences than other spots but it is ridable. If we make everything easier we won't have any challenging trails left.

Funny. I know it's pretty much goofing on this thread but I can't believe there are actually people out there that want to "groom" these trails.

Fano n I were touring thru there Sunday last. Noticed a few 1 in dia holes that had been drilled into the rock. It appears that these are for...

a. Inserting a bar & attaching a com - a - long for the unfortunate
b. someone contemplating breaking off a chunk of rock
c. someone is laying out a new Arnold Palmer course.

Hard to tell. But I agree...that area adds adventure. And that is why we are there.

Good point. I guess I'll just have to modify the swivel on my cup holder so it doesn't spill
so much if I have to lean the bike for that shit.

Wow! That high altitude weight lifting gets old in a hurry. Glad you didn't have to fetch a winch, or a helicopter. Schylar probably holds the record for biggest/widest on 157. Well done!

Yeah I haven't heard from Fano since that Sunday. I don't think I'm invited to ride with him anymore. :0 Not until I buy a lighter bike.

I am still recovering. Mainly mentally that I couldn't keep up with a Tiger on 157

Annual pilgrimage to San Diego fails to disappoint again!

Notch peak postcard, no?

camp near Mono Lake (600 miles day 1)

Next, things get twisty, so only 500 miles of curves a day for the next 2 days... wake up and hit Yosemite!

are you a pessimist or an optimist?

I hit Sequoia NP and NF... Can I find a decent campsite?

lots of tight twisty 45 mph peg grinding

Camp on the Kern river, north of Bakersfield. Nice place.

more curves

after hitting the southern tip of the Sierra's I went to the coast and rode PCH into SD, but I didn't take any pics. The 650 is the weapon of choice on this. Big bikes would have fun for sure, but flipping the lighter bike through this stuff was more manageable. There's a lot of 2nd gear hairpins that go on for MILES.

Return trip starts Fri am, so if any of you FF's slab down here you chase me back up the PCH to camp in Big Sur, then over Yosemite again and back. sigh.
