What the hell Kev Is this turning into a foot fetish site?
Cover those things up with some new riding boots.
I suggest these for that perfect blend of protection, comfort, and STYLE.

So, who is in for a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Ride? I can get away until about 1:00. Anywhere is good for me.

If it's big bike friendly, I'm game!

Really? You're concerned about your pants having to fit inside the boot because of the looks?

I wonder if the reason you guys still hang w/ me is because you don't notice my tucked in pants after I get covered in dirt. I'll try to make them fit on the outside to not embarrass anyone in the future!

The boots will break in and you'll be fine. Usually there's a compromise, the more comfortable the less protection you get.

Listen to the advice of our doctor friend and just wear proper protection.

Giskev, that looks painful! But a steel toed boot would've bent your toes up and broken them all together by folding your foot in half... or the steel part would've retained it's shape while the sole caved in and carved the steel toe into your foot while scraping the flesh, tendons and skin off your bones like a spatula scraping a burger off a grill (Trust me, I get paid to think of worse case scenarios).

Gear won't protect against everything, but it'll save your ass in most of the occasions where you would get injured just enough to not make it home in one piece!

My black dog makes a decent backdrop, eh?
Damn man, you have some hairy black feet.

There is a reason I went into Neonatology...I hate feet. Babies have cute feet.

I'm actually going to try and make it to Moab. I know, I know,
that would mean riding.

The plan would be to do White Rim. Girls in the Rhino, boys on bikes.

Might be a little nippy. I just really need to get out of town.

We'll see, best laid plans and all.

I had put all the babies away for the winter. Now I've got to
get digging and charging batteries.

stuff

pluric and hick thanks for the generous boot demo offer. Maybe I can borrow them from you sometime soon. With the holidays and everything it may be 2010 before I get around to it.

No ride for me turkey day, I'm headed out of town.
Enjoy the holiday!

Oh, one more thing. I was talking with giskev's wife about some crazy electric bike tests at this year's isle of man race, she asked me to post what I was talking about here. I know I've posted some electric off road bike stuff here before, but I don't think I posted the isle of man TTXGP. Here's a couple of videos:
http://www.wired.com/autopia/2009/06/mission-one-2/

The low end torque on these ebikes could be a LOT of fun.

Now for KTMs ebike (I think I posted something similar before):

Are you planning to mount your turkey roaster on the Rhino, hook up the exhaust & "roast in route". Then stop at Candlestick for snacks? You are riding the "Honda Glide"...right. That would make a cood add for big red..."Honda Glide does White Rim loaded with turkeys!" Pics....we need pics...

Jeez, Happy Thanksgiving to you .................too.....................

Anybody got a local ride on Friday? I've got to work Sat/Sun and 20 inches of snow on 46" rocks doesn't sound like good skiing to me.............
