It's definitely darker, much darker. The supposed clear resin isn't really so. Next time I make one of these, I'll probably just use black carbon fiber.

It's three layers. Very light, and pretty bomber. I don't see it breaking from an impact. I might make it four layers, but I'll use this first to see how it holds up. It's way lighter than any steel framed pannier system, and much more secure with no issues with bolts breaking, rattling loose, welds failing, etc. It's small, but I don't take much anyway. Big enough for a tent, bag, flip flops, small stove, some tools, and a bit of food.

Looks good. Keep an eye on your subframe near your battery. They like to crack.

Thanks. This thing attaches to the main frame, forming it's own "subframe". Weight is 4lbs, 13 oz as it is now. I guess the plastics I removed weight about 2lbs, so net total gain is less than 3lbs.

Nice. That lower mount should take a lot of weight off. Just stay out of the whoops but who wants to ride those anyways.
