Drvar - Bosnia and Herzegovina
Some time ago I read in newspapers that Tito’s cave in Drvar was restored by United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Place of (locally, ex Yu) famous attempt by German paratroopers to capture partisan leader Tito during WWII. More details can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raid_on_Drvar
Place was mythologized by ruling communist ideology, and around 300.000 people visited every year. With breakup of Yugoslavia and wars that followed place was completely forgotten. I was there as a kid some 25 or more years ago, so it was right time to visit and see what’s left. ![]() Team consisted of Linza (member here) and Ivana on Varadero, Lolo on GS 650 Dakar and I on 1200 GS. ![]() First stop was on Rastoke near Slunj. Plitvice Lakes are nearby. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plitvice ![]() Zagreb is approximately 150 km from Bosnian border. ![]() Zeljava airfield is nearby http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=240446, tunnels are carved into mountain, and radar station was on the top. ![]() ![]() ![]() Short break in Bihac, town is situated on Una River. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bihac ![]() ![]() ![]() Drvar, at last. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tito’s cave. ![]() ![]() ![]() Local rider. ![]() Lunch. ![]() ![]() Partisan monument is devastated. ![]() ![]() Sobica groblje (cemetery) was scene of some of the heaviest fighting during the raid. ![]() ![]() ![]() Another coffee break on our way back home, near Bihac on river Una, really nice place. That’s it, 500 km in total, cool Sunday ride with historic flavor.

I've been to B&H- very cool place.
Per capita Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Macedonia have the MOST beautiful women. Gorgeous. Can you show us more?

Great pics and very interesting report...but we are all wondering..what was the "flaky pastry + meat" for lunch? The Pils and spring onions we recognized, but not the other dish.
