Out of the foothills,



a short stretch of pavement,



we gassed up, and found ourselves the cheapest casino motel on the NV side, ate a pretty greasy dinner, and slept like babies.

I should have ridden around the parking lot to make 200miles.



There were a lot of ups and downs!

No pitchers of the carnage, I think we were too focused on not dying.

At one point, Ranson half-fell, you know when you've got your bike propped up at 45 degrees, but you don't have the leverage to get it back vertical, and I'm way above him saying over the intercom, "I'll be right there to help!" And then I start laughing, 'cause I'm like, "Who am I kidding?" You're on your own dude, it's gonna take me five minutes to get down to where you are.

Like I said, laughing at your riding buddies' misfortune is part of the game. It was so steep I could not find a spot to put the stand down. A great day that was.

Whew that truly was epic, and on the day Curiosity lands on Mars, it seems all the more like the Mobius Team was on another planet. Keep it coming...

As a geologist, I really appreciate the photos in this segment of your Mobius blog. Some of them are textbook quality. I also have to say, for a guy stuck in the "land of corn and pigs" here in the midwest, this blog is like environmental porno...I just love looking at the photos of places I wanna see and reading about things I wanna do.

Took a couple months, but I'm caught up and subscribed! It's great to be reading along and see there are more pages added as you go. Haven't read all that many RRs, but this one is clearly among the best! Can't wait for the next installments!

You should win some sort of prize! I can't imagine anyone reading this straight through, that's why I've set up the Index (first post of the thread), so people can skip and jump to different sections. But cool, glad you've enjoyed it. Personally, I plan on reading it start to finish when I'm old and decrepit in a nursing home, drooling out of one side of my mouth.

Hang tight for Bunnyville salt flats -- the photos are coming out quite nice.
