Ouch, best wishes to Francine for a rapid and complete recovery. It must have been hell for you to be there on the scene, as a person who deals with trauma yourself. The emotional protection we set up for ourselves, the "esthetic distance," when we deal with trauma victims all comes apart when it is a loved one, and it violently self destructs when we are somehow "responsible" for the person's being where they are when it happens. We had an incident in NZ on a trip with two couples, 4 bikes, and my bud went off the road and suffered head trauma. He did not turn out so well. The longest minutes of my life were spent waiting for the girls to show up 10 minutes later, as we were far in the lead ahead of them. I am but a lurker here, but have followed your trips closely and identified a lot with many of the trials and triumphs. Sorry that we have this shared experience along with all the other ones. BTW, when you coming back to Alaska? Dick

While we are in intermission....

Francine, get well soon. I'm guessing you'll want to get back in the saddle but please take all the time you need.

During this rest time, if the masses don't mind, allow me to share a moment of my wonderful Mobius 9 experience.
This is a small sample of the great routes Dave & Francine have been sharing with Mobius crews. Best riding ever!
170 degree lens doesn't do it justice but you'll get the idea.

I wonder if that is just for Big Dog and Dingweeds though? Dr. Rock's SPOT is showing them by Lake Mohave in a campground.

Regardless, both are on the move it appears.

This may be what the landscape looks like where B.D. and D-Weeds are in Mojave Nat'l Preserve.

Finding the SPOT address.

Dr. Rock made a boo-boo in his signature when he put in the URL for the SPOT link. He put in "http://www.advrider.com/forums/tinyurl.com/mobius11" which is an incorrect URL. ADV doesn't have a TinyURL forum. I removed "advrider.com/forums/" and then that shortened it down to "http://www.tinyurl.com/mobius11" and hitting ENTER, the TinyURL link then turned in to the proper SPOT address for their ride. That is how I figured it out.

Now, let's hope that they take it easy, and do simple day rides with little stress and enjoy the scenery. Regroup for Mobius11 version 2 this fall. The main thing is that Francine is healthy.

Looks like they split up. Big Dog is out by Barstow, Doc is heading east near Kingman, AZ. NOt the adventure any of us hope for; I'm just glad she is OK.
