I'm betting that Doc and Francine are heading to Doc's brother's place in Flagstaff for a little more recuperation time before returning to NYC.

Waiting to do the "Happy Dance" when we finally get confirmation from either Doc or LDF that she is nicely on the mend.

SOOOO glad it wasn't worse!

Pleased and Relieved

So pleased and relieved to hear you are on the road again. Thanks again to all those who helped. I'll rest easier when I hear from Francine. We are toasting you at dinner tonight.

First off, thanks to everyone for the kind words and positive thoughts both here & by pm. Lots of great advice. A quick update. Each day has been better than the one before. Headaches and knee pain improving, but still there. Nausea gone, dizzy spells far & few between. Memory improving, still a ways to go. Biggest issues are fatigue, and irritability / frustration.

Our plan is to lay low, rest, and slowly re-integrate into normal life.

Blueberry got fixed up, minor headlight / dash damage, speedo is trashed, will replace with a trail tech.

Mark & Scott were a huge help & support. Spent an extra day in LV, and then continued on the m11 route.

We rented a car, and shuttled the bikes & gear to a storage unit near the LV airport. Swung by Walmart, and picked up some cheap camping gear and headed out.

(sorry i can't correct the link to our spot in my sig, but it's only the tinyurl part)

1st night @ cottonwood cove on lake mead. Little too noisy. Last night @ Hualapai mt. County park near Kingman. Beautiful views, quiet. Moved to a different site this am when a family with 4 kids took the next site over.

Plan is to take few days to get to flag, then depart from Phoenix as planned on the 21st.

We're eating well, takin lots of naps, and working on positive thoughts, patience, and reconstructing memories lost.

Posting from the field; please excuse brevity & misspellings.

Thanks for the Update.

Great relief to know you are headed to family in Flagstaff and doing well. Prayers answered I guess. God speed.

Thank you, David, for taking the time to give us an update. So glad that Francine is coming back from the land of hurt so rapidly. It is frustrating when the brain refuses to disgorge the information that you know is there. Rest and beautiful scenery can only help.

For those of us who follow The Mobius Trip through installment after installment, Francine is our favorite "biker babe" (meant in the best possible sense). It is wonderful to see a couple who have life goals so similar and so adventurous. Many of us guys would love our wife/girlfriend/partner to join our love of the wilder ways and motorcycles. And the photo you took a while back of Francine riding toward the wild horses crossing the track...Wow.

Wishing the best to you both. I hope to see more Mobius in the future. That would mean all is restored and the spirit is still willing. Oh, and Francine, no more falling off. Okay? Be well, you two.

David,

I too am glad you chimed in. I'm sure you will fill in the details when you have the time. Just focus on getting Francine healed up. And please try to follow the doctor's orders OK?

Thank You!

Thanks Doc for taking time and energy to update us on LDF's condition. I think at this point, a one word summary will suffice: Excellent!

Thank God you were there for immediate (and correct) assistance! It really can't get much better than that. All the fine folks of ADV Rider who pitched-in to help solve the logistics problems and transport are to be commended as well. What a great group!

Rest and heal well, Francine!
Don

Wonderful news, Doc.....all things considered.

So glad she is experiencing steady improvements. Irritability is a good thing. Careless indifference, would have me more concerned.

Glad to hear you're taking it easy. Mark made a pitstop at Rancho Highfive on his way to join you. He was so very excited to continue the journey with you & LDF. Had very nice things to say about the Mobius. I'm sure he is missing you two badly by now.

Well now that we know Francine is safe and sound, we're gonna need a full report with several 8x10 glossies and some celebrity narrated video thrown in for good measure.
